I currently have two of these in my bag.  This is by far one of Visionary's most versatile balls.  Both of them are at box finish and drilled with a control layout.

The first ball is my benchmark ball.  It is 3 3/8 controlled at 35 degrees.  This ball allows me to get a really good read of the lane in terms of oil length and breakpoint.  The ball generates a very controllable and predictable move whenever I throw it.  Because of the surface and strength of the layout, I have to make sure I keep my eyes on the balls reaction throughout the entire lane.  This ball does flare a good deal having the Gryphon II core wrapped around this aggressive coverstock.  I normally use this ball and a G-3 stacked as it's compliment when I feel the ball is reading the mid-lane too quickly.

The second ball is a tournament ball.  This was drilled for Nationals and sport shot conditions.  It is 5 1/4 controlled at 65 degrees with the pin under my middle finger.  The finish is box right now but I will probably take it to 1000 or 2000 wetsand.  This layout is great when I have to get in deep and need the ball to push easy through the front and mids while maintaining a strong roll on the backend.  This layout has been a life saver on deep shot conditions where stacked equipment is just too erratic.  It also allows me to open up the lane a little on sport shots where the gutter is open and strong mid-lane layouts produce too much over/under.

If you're looking for a good benchmark ball, I would suggest laying out a Frankie with a Control Drilling anywhere from 3 3/8th's to 4 from your PAP.
