Title says it all.  I have had good success lately with my Visionary stuff, is there anything out there that would roll like my Absolute Inferno?

G3 Gryphon?  Looking at the BTM ratings they rate the G3 as less hook than the AI, but the G3 is polished, while the AI has more surface and got better numbers on oil.

J_Mac,

No offense intended, but I sincerely doubt that the G3 Gryphon can handle anywhere near the amount of oil that the Absolute Inferno could. The G3 is also a realtively flippy ball, where as the AI was not. I suspect your release and the drilling might have something to do with your comparison.

If a person's release is more of the end-over-end variety, they may get a ball reaction closer to the AI. (Your profile says your track and tilt may be closer to that type of relase.)

I suspect the Immortal pearl or a polished AMB Centaur solid might be closer in oil handling and overall ball reaction to the AI.

Axe,

You are probably looking for in the direction of a Immortal Pearl to be closest I would say. The Ogre SS is pretty long and flippy if you did get that out of an AI. I know awhile back I did throw an AI and it was pretty flippy for me. But the Immortal Pearl is probably your best bet.. The AMB Pearl might be close to.

Jeff... no offense taken, but I guess I didn't fill in the blanks of my thought process well enough.  I bet if you took a G3 to the same stock finish as the AI it would handle more oil and at the same time make that smoother transition like the AI.

Sorry to disappoint you, but I'm not basing my opinion off of experience either.  Just looking at raw data and making assumptions.  I'd rather replace a symmetric ball with a symmetric ball any day.

ah-ha!! Now you're cooking with gas, as they used to say.
I can see that possibility.

True enough, but, as I said in another thread, like you can make resins imitate urethane (and not vice-versa), you can make asymmetric cores immitate symmetric cones, but not vice-versa.

FYI I usually prefer symmetrics myself.
