and thanks a lot so far. Yes, I considered another Trauma, but this is impossible. Stocks aren't that big around here, and even getting a used one is a dire task.
@Andrew: you are 100% correct - trying to copy one ball's reaction, even to another of the same specimen, will probably not work. A fried of mine also has a Trauma, but with a 4" pin, and if you play his and mine ball side by side you would not think that these were basically the same balls. Mine is pretty arcing in the back end, his a true snap ball.
The G3 came to my attention through my FMG, which has a simlar drill to my Trauma and reminds me much of it in overall reaction and versatility. I "blame" this on the symmetrical core which is by specs and even shape close to the multi density Trauma core.
I have seen a G3 in action, but in the hands of a top level amateur with much more speed and revs than me, so it was hard to tell how strong the coverstock is. My hope is that the polished G3 fits "under" a sheen React-A-Tack cover, so that the ball would need less head oil than my FMG and the powerfuld core might allow deep shots "through the middle" with a swing shot once the outside areas run dry. My FMG can handle this, but it is so tacky that I cannot use it effectively on medium to medium-dry shots (and that's also not the niche I use the ball for).
On the other hand, replacing my Trauma will be a hard task, because I like it's reaction so much. I had hoped to replace it with an Awesome Finish, but this ball is way snappier, and now I am thinking about a strong symmetrical pearl like the G3 - the G3 looks like the best offer/option right now for me.
So, if anyone can give some input on Trauma vs. G3 or Accu Pearl vs. the G3's coverstock, please post! Any impression is welcome
