Looking to pick up a Visionary Ball...
« on: September 02, 2008, 02:07:41 PM »
Hey guys,

I have a need for another ball in my arsenal.  I'm currently carrying a MoRIch Awesome Revs (rarely see enough oil to use it) Awesome Finish (not the skid/snap ball I intended it to be, more rolly) and Tropical Storm.  I used to have an Ebonite Fire that was drilled long and strong for typical house conditions, but it has cracked and is out of commission.  I'm looking to fill the void of the Fire and I would like to try a Visionary ball.  Is the Ogre SS the ball I want? Or should I go with something else? Thanks in advance for your help.

I'm a stroker/tweener and basically all I see are house conditions and lighter/broken down tournament conditions

SS would be the way to go. A great ball on house shots and med-lighter conditions.

I don't know that Ebonite made a Fire maybe Elements Fire or Cross Fire?

Seems like you have a big void between an Awesome Revs and an Awesome Finish and a Tropical.

Yes I had the Elements Fire, and I'd like to fill as many voids as I can with one ball that has some versatility.  Basically, the Morich stuff is mainly for tournaments and I want a designated league ball.

The you IMO need to step up from the SS which is more condition specific and roll a ball like the Solid Glad if you want a Solid or a Ogre Pearl for a pearl.  Both pretty good bench mark balls.  More hook and ability than the SS....BUT NOT over the top hook machines like the Revs or Finish.  Depends a lot of your technique and how you play the lanes and condition bowled on.
