Visionary Lineup....
« on: December 05, 2005, 06:39:44 PM »
Just punched up a Green/Blue Centaur and am absolutely delighted with it.Thinking of getting more Visionary balls so I was hoping some of you guys might be able to list Visionarys balls in order of strongest to weakest.
Thanx in advance for your help.

Hellbound--Lots of Visionary experts on here but tell us more about your game. Many will help.

I'll list them from weakest to strongest but you have to remember a player would use them on different conditions depending on lane condition, players technique, ability to play in or out, layout of ball used and grit/surface, ball speed, etc.

Green Blue Centaur--Solid reactive. Very low differential better from outside down and in player especially on wet/dry.  I don't feel it is a strong enough ball to carry well from inside unless you are a rip it and grip it cranker.

Blue Slate Gargoyle--Pealized urethane.  Medium differential great dry lane ball can be used inside with good success.

Green Gargoyle--Pearlized reactive. Green meanie been around long time one of the first skid/flip balls around.  Medium differential go long flip hard good carrying ball from inside hard to gauge reaction for some.

Violet Gargoyle--Solid reactive.  Best all around medium ball Visionary has.  Easy to read lil earlier rolling than the G-3.  In my mind, best all around ball for most THB's.

G-3 Gryphon--Pearlized reactive.  Good skid/flip reaction higher differential than Gargoyles.

Granite Gargoyle--Heavier particle.  I put the Granite here because of it's ability to handle more oil.  Therefore think of it as stronger.  Does not cover the amount of boards as a G-3 because of it's particle nature.  Can polish cover but why would you when other Visioanry balls will do a better job.

Bronze Centaur AMB--Pearlized reactive.  Lil longer than the Frankie May because of cover and core.  I don't consider it a skid/flip ball though.

Centaur AMB Solid--Solid reactive.  Med. heavy condition. I have not used this one so others can chime in here.

Frankie May--Solid reactive. Earlier rolling than AMB Solid is why I havew it here than lower.  Very strong ball.  Here you can use control type layouts depending on conditions used on.

AMB Particle--Heavier particle.  Earliest rolling ball in line-up.  ONLY heavy oil.  Good tounrey ball for heavy oil.  If, I ever thought of replacing my Midnight Scorcher this would be the ball.  Again, have not used this one others know more than I.

These are just my opinions based on what I have seen and used in the past. As, I said your mileage will vary depending on what and how you use equipment to score.  That's the name of the game in bowling the highest score you can obtain.

Hope this helps.
