Centaur AMB?
« on: February 23, 2005, 06:50:42 AM »
Hey Visionary users, anybody have any more thoughts on this one yet?  I'm thinking of getting one as my 4th ball for membership to go with my Slate, G3 and Burgandy.

its a very good ball, nice even roll with great carry. it would be a good ball for the ones you are getting, but i would get a crimson executioner before the G3.  i hate my G3 with a passion.  But that ball would fit in between the burgandy and slate, and probably behinde your G3.

thats my thoughts tho.

Tappa,

The AMB is a superb choice.  It will fit in between your Burgundy and G-3.  The AMB and the G-3 compliment each other very well.  I would suggest drilling them up the same.

The AMB has a tendency to read the middle very well, and when I say that I mean it will read the middle and sometimes reads the middle too much.  Hence the reason when the G-3 will work as it's compliment with the same drill.  The G-3 will clear the middle a little further than the AMB.

Both of those roll great and hit/carry really well on any part of the lane.  Without a doubt, an AMB and a G-3 are a must in your bag!

Sorry pdiddy but I would have to disagree with your comment on the G-3....the Crimson is not the better ball.

Best of Luck.

Thanks for the responses.  Bowl 4 Money ---- I am thinking along your lines.  I use my G3 as my primary ball.  Works great.  I was thinking of maybe the AMB with little stronger drill than my G3 (it has a length drill) so that I could play inside a little more.  I have trouble getting my G3 to work when I move far inside.  The Burgandy just starts too early for most of my conditions.  Thought the AMB would be able to handle the middle oil better than the G3 but still clear better than the Burgandy is.

I'm not knocking the Burgandy, I love it.  I have it in box condition for my "oil" ball and when I have the right amount it is awesome to use.  That's why I snagged mine before the stopped making it!  So far my G3 has been able to cover my house condition normally.  I'm looking forward to pulling the Burgandy out once I get to some oily synthetics

Aud--I live here in St. Louis and have dealt with Betsy personally for my membership.  When/if I get this AMB as my 4th ball, maybe I could see if they have any Burgandys laying around.
