Ogre Urethane Vs. Slate Blue
« on: November 01, 2009, 08:56:57 AM »
I have the Slate Blue and was wondering if the differences between the two were enough to justify having both.
                                 Thanks,

I have not thrown the OU but all indications are that it is a light oil ball, where the Slate Blue, unless you have high ball speed AND low revs, is anything but a light oil ball. Medium-light to almost true medium oil, so far as I have seen with mine.

Dont have a slate, still playing with surface on the OU. Shiny it wasnt enough, I hit with 1000g sand paper, too much. Im thinking 2000 US/4000abr might just be the ticket. Dry boards are a must. It does hit pretty hard.

IMO the slate blue pearl urethane goes a bit longer and has a bit of a snap compared to the OU. The solid cover on the OU is a smoother earlier rolling ball. Just my opinion.

Thanks to all for the replies. I think I see an Ogre Urethane in my future.
