Title: Need help drilling my FMG
Post by: Rock77 on June 22, 2007, 01:17:36 AM
I am having a real hard time trying to decide on a drill for my FMG. I want it to fit in and have a purpose in my arsenal but I can't figure out where it would fit and how to drill it to fit there. Here's what I've got so far in my arsenal:

Immortal Solid - Pin under bridge, mb 2" right of thumb.
Ogre - Label drill. Pin under and right of ring, cg in palm. 2000 abralon.
Immortal Pearl - Pin over middle finger, mb right of thumb.
Bronze Centaur - Pin over ring, mb 2" right of thumb.
Ogre Pearl - Pin over bridge, cg 2" right of grip center with a weight hole.
Slate Blue Gargoyle - Pin over bridge, cg in palm.

I guess there's a gap between the Immortal Solid and the Ogre, but how would I drill the FMG and would there be any coverstock alteration involved? I don't know, can you guys help?

If you want it to fit between the Immortal Solid, and Ogre, I would probably suggest Pin under bridge, no X-hole, and take the cover to 1000, or 2000, depending on the conditions. The Frankie will rev up quicker than the Ogre, however will be smoother than the Immortal.

Second Androoo with this. The FMG is pretty rolly, a pin under ring drill leaves you with a strong ball for medium to medium-oily shots, and the coverstock responds well to changes. I'd also take it to something between 1.000 and 2.000 grit to fit it between an Ogre and IMSolid.

So, should I place the pin directly under bridge and keep the cg in grip center? Or should I put the pin under ring with cg in grip center? Will I really see much of a reaction difference between the two?

I'd like to drill it up tonight so any input is appreciated.

Under the bridge.

If you put it under the ring, I think it may be too strong for what you want it for.

You can always kick the CG out a little, so you can have some scope to finetune the reaction with a Xhole, if need be.
