I've got a used gargoyle that I plugged and redrilled. I wanted to use it as my dry lane ball, but now I'm having problems getting it there. I don't know if it's the drill, or something with the cover, so any help/advice would be appreciated.
It's a 16lb ball, with the pin about 1" above the bridge. The cg is kicked out to the 1030 position, with about a 3.5" pin. The ball has 3/8 side weight, and 1/4 top weight.
The cover (which I thought might be the problem) I took on the Haus machine down to 1500, and then threw some shine/cleaner on it (don't remember the brand).
Anyway, I wanted the ball to slide through the heads, but instead it grabs a little bit as soon as I put it down. Then it goes and finishes fine, but still stronger than I want it to. Can I fix this? and if so, how?
BTW- I'm a righty, cranker, throw ~18mph, prefer to stand center and swing out to about 5-10 board.
Thanks for your help...
