On Visionary's website they have a "next ball" at the end of their line-up when you click the "balls" icon.........
I think it should be a symetrical solid............thoughts?

Either a symetrical solid, or a urathane version
of the excecutioner.
I also think that sooner or later, they need to bring back
the DC weight block.

I second livespive. Maybe a Midnight Scorcher replacement?

Yeah they could use the DC core, and add it to the Gryphon
line seeing as it is the only line that they have now that
switches cores between balls.

what about a stronger Gargoyle, a step above the Granite ?? That's a hole I see

I think that they are discontinuing the DC core since it gave some drillers (and therefore bowlers) fits. Either the balls were great or they were a flop depending on the drilling. I would like to see a stronger core in a urethane ball.

I don't really think that they were flops, as much as I think
that they are more condition specific than most balls.
I have 4 drilled dc cores (midnight, 2 dc tours, dc warlock)
I drilled the first one stacked (pin about 4.5" away from pap mb under it)
At first it looked like it wasn't going to work, but once I found
where the ball shines it was great.
I will say this, if you don't follow the sheet with the ball, or the drilling
instructions on the site I thin you will have problems because of where
the mb is located in relation to the cg and the pin. If you lay the ball
out via pin and cg the mb was not always in the same spot.
As visionary states with the othe balls, there is a mb but it is not that
strong, it is more for achieving better pinouts.
The Dc core was just that, a "D"ynamic "C"ore you had to make sure you placed
the mb where you wanted it.

back to the point guys
.....
what do you think they're going to come up with next ? Any Test Staffers call there and get some "inside" info ?

A little hijackin' never hurt anyone Jeff

Honestly, I don't know what the next ball will be.
I would almost venture to say a new line, seeing as
each of the lines have three balls in them. Three
is going to be the magic number. heck even the DC core
came in three balls.
Just something to think about

livespive,
I completely agree with you. That is exactly what I meant, if the balls weren't drilled acording to Visionarys specs than they didn't really perform well. Since many drillers no longer consult sheets and just drill them up without caring about the MB the balls with the DC core have gotten a bad rap.

Point taken,
I think we can give Jeff his post back

I called Visionary but Betsy couldnt say what the next ball would be. She did say that they are still trying to get the clear Gargoyle made but that's been on-going for awhile now.

I emailed her when I placed an order here a few
weeks ago and got the same response as MI 2 AZ.
Although I did mention to her that they should come
out with a urathane version of the executioner.
So you never know
Seeing as I buy 5 balls each time I go there maybe
I'll get lucky.

Logically a Solid Gryphon ball is in the works, and JeffRevs, all the Visionary balls have been asymetrical. Not Symetrical.
They are missing Two important balls, A solid Resin with a Med RG core for a ball that saves more energy than the Charcoal Executioner. Something maybe with Mica, Similar to a shock trauma.
and the Second is a Real Particle Pearl. Stronger than a G-3, but less than a Burgandy. There is a Large Gap there. and A pearl Particle will fill that out best.
The DC i don't predict coming back in the forseeable future, as already stated it was a misunderstood ball by some.

Ok,...I never said they were , either way, I said, I think they should have a symetrical solid......see below....

Why take a step back, by going back to symetrical for a high end ball?

Actually, the Burgundy and G-3's core are symmetrical. The Blue Sparkle's
is not.

High end does NOT equate to symetrical or asymetrical...
--------------------
JEFF
Better....much better!
-
Heck the most expensive highend ball is symetrical (Lane 1)
I think if they are going to tweak with coverstocks, then the
core needs to be symetrical. Don't get to crazy and change to
many things at once, you won't know which one is working. JMO

I think thedude hit it on the head. I have been thinking that they neede a "pearl particle" for a while. Now that dynothane had come out with their pearl particle vendetta, we can all see how a ball like this would complement an already good lineup.
I currently throw a shined charcoal executioner drilled stacked under the ring finger and a HIGHLY (and I mean HIGHLY) polished granite gargoyle drilled 3x0 and can cover all my house shots. If I get back to bowling tourneys, I will need more, but for now these are great. I am averaging around 220 with them and they are 14lb balls.

Just call me Darreyl, it's much easier to say!
-
I thought the purple ice was a particle pearl?
I thought that it was just sanded.
From the visionary site:
"This Executioner was designed to combat the toughest of lane conditions. This light load particle pearl rolls like an old urethane on steroids, with the hit and carry of a strong reactive. With the executioner core and a newly designed coverstock, this ball is a must have for tournament and tough house conditions. This is NOT a monster hooker, but what this ball does offer is CONTROL - the best component when the lanes are not forgiving."

I take it you shined those two in particular so you only have to carry three
balls? (including plastic)

Pearl Particle!!!
Core from the New G-3(personally i like this core best, but some want to DC core back)
As for Jeffrevs, no not all balls have to be asymeterical, but most companys reserving there MB marked balls for the high end line.
Example i look at dynothane and personally i like there products alot.
also i have stated MO about Lane one. lol i got an earful from it too.
Pearl Particle! or An Original Blue sparkle Gryphon with some more Surface and a little stronger cover.

livespive,
you are correct. I carry them this way so I can carry only three. If I need more, I can scotchbrite the executioner and then re-polish it when I get back home.
I have had good luck like this and these are some great balls. visionary makes some winners and people in my center are starting to notice and ask where they can get them.

No, that is correct, the Apocalypse, along with all the Fuel cores are Asymetrical....HOWEVER, I didn't mention the Apoc, ...just the Rush.....
