Love the Charcoal Executioner
« on: March 10, 2004, 08:23:23 PM »
I bought a used Charcoal Executioner from APK a while back and didn't get around the having it drilled until last week.  On Tuesday night the wife and I went up to the local bowling alley to do some practicing....

A little background on this place... small 16 lane alley... HORRIBLE conditions...  the Men's league has only 6 5-man teams and there are women filling spots.  I haven't bowled league here in a LONG time, but I still go occasionally to practice since I can get $1.00 a game.  It is usually bone dry, but I thought they might have actually oiled the lanes since it was league night.

Well, I was wrong...  BONE DRY AGAIN!!!  I couldn't throw my WOW, so I was going to just throw my plastic ball and work on my release.  I decided to get out the Charcoal Executioner for the first time and this ball was amazing.  It got through the heads very cleanly and make a great backend move.  No skid/flip at all.  This ball went DOWN the lane and made a strong arc move to the pocket.  If I got it out, it didn't come back as strong, but if I pulled it, it held really well.  This ball worked great on these dry lanes and I can't wait to throw it on some oil to really see what I can do with it.

It is set up like this:

--------P----
-----0-0-----
-------------
-------C-----
-------------
------0------

I really want to try out some more Visionary after seeing this beauty.

Yes this ball is a very good ball.
I have 3 of them

ONe drilled:

-----o---o----
------------p
-------c------
-------------
------o-------
LAbel leverage

and one:
-------------c
------o---o----
------------p---
----------------
-------o--------

315 deg (wiseman drill)

The other is in the closet.
Both drillings are very forgiving.  The core itself is very forgiving
The first is polished to 800, and the second to 1000, even then the ball
will move in the oil.

All and all it is a great ball.
