New Breed solid 1st impression

Since I was the first lucky fan page winner I decided to select a ball that didn''t cover conditions I already have equipment for.  Also I''ve begun frequenting a house I plan to bowl in next year there the house puts out much more volume and blends it better towards the gutter so there is much less free hook if any at all.

Anyways my NBs specs: 16lb 3oz top and 3" pin.

The ball was laid out 50*4.5*40 based on my PAP which you can see my stats in the profile.

For me

I think this is a very superb core and cover match up, neither is too strong nor too weak.

The following was done based on fresh upper medium oil.

The NBs rolls early and responds to friction very quickly but doesn''t roll out.  It generates about 5" to 6" of flare compared to the DC Warlock which generates 7"+ and will roll out if there isn''t enough volume in the heads.  Although the DC requires head oil it also requires dry to finish and isn''t as strong as the NBs.

I''ve found it to adapt well to hand and release changes but because of the very early roll it gets I need more rotation or side roll for best results.  If I stay under or behind the ball it doesn''t finish strong and leaves weak seven pins often.

Despite the rather dull OOB surface the NBs retains a lot of energy down lane, many pocket hits showed little loss of power.  It is not as continuous as I hoped it would be but I can alter my rotation to improve that.  I also have not left a 10 pin yet with it but left more than a handful of seven pins due to the lack of finish.  Again I will alter that next outing with increase rotation angles.

Side by side on this condition with:  DC Warlock and D/T Thing Lives.

I found it unfortunately surprising that a closely drilled TL at 4000ab is nearly as much ball as the NBs is.  The reaction shape is vastly different even if they cover almost the same amount of boards.  I get easier length and finish from the TL but am prone to leave more 10 pins with it.  The DC gives me the same reaction shape but is not as early and should be considered a step down from the NBs.  But, between the TL and NBs I get easier revs up front and prefer that for this condition...obviously.

I look forward to more outings with the NBs.
