Where would green Gargoyle and Blue Green Centaur Fit?
« on: December 07, 2008, 09:52:23 AM »
I see the visionary lineup from weakest to strongest as:
Slate Blue
Glad Pearl
Violet Gargoyle
Ogre Pearl
Glad Solid
Ogre Part
Blue Centaur Part
If this is an accurate assessment of ball strength where would the Green Gargoyle Reactive,Blue Green Centaur, and Ogre Solid fit? Thanks for any help.

Some random thoughts:

Ogre solid would seem to fit, in general, above Ogre Pearl and below Glad solid.

B/G Centaur fits above the SBG if left stock sanded (P2000 or 1000 grit US).
If sanded to 4000 grit, B/G Centaur fits at the SBGlevel but is much more versatile on wet/drys. SBG is good with higher ball speed on dry lanes, but for lower to medium ball speed really needs a blended condition.

If polished, the BG Centaur fits below the SBG.CLears the heads more easily and has nice backend.

The Green Meanie fits just above the SBG at stock surface. It clears the heads much more easily than the SBG but has much more backend. Sanded or lightly dulled it would fit above the SBG. It could fit above the Glad Pearl.

A lot depends on drillings, as well!!

Aside:
I would think the Glad Pearl would fit around the same level as the same drilled Violet Gargoyle, with different ball reaction and transition handling. I personally would be inclined to put the Glad Pearl closer to the Ogre Pearl, which is slightly more even and less backend.

Thanks Charlest-Very much appreciated.I have both the SBG and Blue Green Centaur drilled the same so I will try your suggestion to polish the Blue Green to go under the SBG.
