Looking into getting one of the above, and was curious as to how the two compared to eachother.  Thanks in advance.

Hey there, If your house has a TON of oil, The Amb centaur would be the best choice. And if it's a blend oil/dry the Ogre particle is the way to go!

As I have owned both, the Ogre is for heavy oil. It can be used on a Heavy THS shot. The AMB is for EXTREME oil. It is in my tournament bag only! I kid you not on the AMB, even on EXTREME oil, I cannot use it for a full game. I sold the Ogre, because I have Lanemasters equipment that is better for a heavy THS shot. Also, keep in mind the Ogre gets a fuzzy feeling while using it. It's kind of like a days growth of beard, on the ball. Even after cleaning i'm not positive it's clean, it's really, really weird.

THIS IS MY OPINION ONLY!!!

I have not yet found enough oil to use the AMB, even at 4000. At box finish it is ridiculous, biggest hooking ball I have ever thrown.

Ther had been - I do not remember by whom - a funny video placed here of an OOB AMB Particle's first shot after drilling. If I remember correctly, it did not touch ANY pin, because it hooked immediately into the left gutter! Too little oil... huge flare potential... lots of surface. You better have an oil swamp at hand for this one.

Dizzy, it was Britton (Videoballreviews) who rolled the AMB Particle that didn't touch any of the pins..

Here's my perspective.  I have both or had.....I recently got an AMB Centaur Particle from bltbyj laid out strong.  He had it at 1000 ab and I left it that way.  I used to use a Midnight Scorcher for floods and extreme OB shots.  I used the AMB in a tourney with long oil and an OB last Sat. qualifying.  First two games +50 next best was -25.  All because of this ball.  Nothing else would have worked as well.  It's  condition specific ball but when you need it.....nothing works as well a Mega Friction would be the only other ball that comes close.  When head oil is depleted in your lay down it will burn up you'll know when to put it up.

Ogre Particle can be used on lots more conditions.  I even used mine last year and what I'd term a medium THS even oil across lane and shot big numbers.  It evens out the over reaction off the dry.

The AMB Centaur Particle is one of the reasons Visionary has every condition covered under the sun from floods to super dry.  On the flip side using an Ogre Urethane a lot these days in league because of the oil embargo where I bowl league.  One side of the coin to the other.
