1000 grit Abralon is P1000 (FEPA) = 500 grit US/CAMI scale.
If you sanded your Ogre to 1000 grit Abralon, it is now rougher and earlier than the stock finish.

Use a 6448 green scotch brite to bring it back to OOB 600 matte per Jason.

Hello All,
OK here is how we finish our covers
Wet Sand - 3M wet/dry sandpaper hand sanded on a spinner (most have been 320)
Matte - Scotch Brite Pads hand sanded on a spinner
Burgundy - 400 matte
Green - 600 matte
Light Gray - 1000 matte
Abralon - Abralon pads on a resurfacing machine similar to the Haus. We used 2,000 abralon on the Gladiator Solid and 1,000 Abralon on the Ogre Particle.
Polish - 1500 buffing compound. This is a solid (non wax) buffing compound used on polishing wheels. Our polishing system is would be best described as an industrial sized Lustre King.

Mine looks and feels less rough now than it did oob...
There's no P on the abralon sheets/pads the pro shop where I get my stuff use...

Just talked to Mirka here in Sweden and he said that abralon is the same worldwide, so if you in the US use a 1000 abralon pad/sheet it's the same 1000 grit as we over here in Europe uses...

It can be smoother if you've used the 1000 grit pad too much. Otherwise, technically, the grooves are wider than the 600 grit abrasive with which the ball was finished at the factory.

True. Just be aware it is graded using the FEPA system. The EBonite pictures shown above demonstrate that.

I understand Lillen...if I wanted to take a Solid Ogre either back to OOB or as close to OOB I'd be using scotch-brite not abralon...least that's the way I look at matte OOB surfaces on Visionary equipment.
