At a lower grit, could this ball be used on heavier oil? The ball has a strong layout.

Really depends on your tilt and axis rotation.  How you play the lanes...yadda yadda.  What works for one on heavy may not work for another.  If you have one try OOB 600 matte <green scotch brite>.  Easy to try that first.

Just bought one today on the internet. This will replace my No Mercy for my more agressive ball. I haven't thrown a Visionary ball in 10 years. Last and only one was a Warlock DC Tour, polished and drilled 3 3/8 x 5. Liked that ball at the time.

Generally I like to polish most of my equipment. I'm wondering if I should or not. Keep the cover as and polish it or try it with a Abarlon pad at a lower grit then polish it or neither.

I also like weaker drills, preferably around 5 inches from the pin to the PAP but was thinking on going something a little more aggressive but nothing crazy. What layouts does everyone have for this ball?

Brian, I also polish just about every ball I have. However, I was thinking of keeping this one somewhat dull for heavier oil in tournaments. I think it's good to have at least 1 or 2 dull balls.

Brian,

I think you have a high rev rate if I recall (Your profile is empty now).

If you want this for heavier oil, start off with the stock 600 grit, BECAUSE this ball flares VERY little, maybe 3" at most. If you need more length, try 1000 grit, 1200 grit or 1500 grit.

I have to redo the profile. I've become more of a power tweener then a cranker, but I will try the box finish. I actually liked the No Mercy at 1000 Abarlon then polished of any kind so you never know. But I may keep this as an oiler ball and leave it dull. Now for the layout?
Thanks.
