Nor Cal,

Haven't thrown the Ogre Solid, but from talking with others, and especially with Jason, the Pumpkin is going to be able to handle more oil and will need head oil to be effective.

I have the Violet and love the ball.  Plays nicely on a belly hook shot and for me, excels on a down and in shot as well.  Gets a little length I would think from what I hear about the O Solid.

Compared to the Violet, the Ogre is a completely different animal altogether.  On the same pattern, the Ogre will start rolling much sooner and be smoother overall.  The Gargoyles are more skid/flippish than the Ogres.  Plus, the Ogres will handle carrydown better as well.
