That looks much like the Chalk hammer released a few of, minus the blue of course. But I agree it looks very cool, can't really tell but is it pearl or solid?

Not sure of the Chalk......can't stand Ebonite's version of Hammer so I really don't pay attention to anything they put out anymore.
The ball is a solid though.

1500 polish from what I was told....even though it's solid.
For those that are going to ask, which I know it will be, Jason said the polish done because it's a hard urethane and it's meant to go straight!!
And I know that people will also ask....yes....the surface can be altered to get a little hook out of it. Those with hand in the ball will get something out of it without a doubt!!

magicmike,
Just to let you know, USBC Equipment shows the Hammer Chalk as being approved Feb 2009 whereas the Ogre Urethane was approved Nov 2008. So......it looks like Chalk really resembles the Ogre Urethane!!

Rod22875,
Was going through some mails from the past and came across yours! I take it you guys didn't make it out to Forum this year for the Nationals?? There was another team from South Carolina that won it.
Didn't see you though.

Yeah I do believe I will be getting one of those... ok so maybe two. Its actually kind of funny when I saw the chalk a few months ago, I was thinking man that would be really cool if they had a few bits of color in it... And I was right!
-
any word on sell date?
-
I think people will be getting something via email if Jason has your email. I don't know of the date though....no....but it should be very soon.

Just letting everyone know that the official release date on the Urethane Ogre is June 3rd. The photo posted that says "ad" is a photo of the ball using a better camera, and does look pretty much exactly like the ball. It is a creamy gray base color with blue and black swirls.
You can find the general information on the release here..
http://img32.imageshack.us/img32/4624/customerogreurethaneint.jpg
Keep in mind, that this is a pretty hard urethane, and is designed not to hook a whole lot. Those who get this ball and expect it to hook alot will be disappointed. It is strictly made for really dry lanes, and for those bowlers who have a problem with modern reactives hooking way too much.

Just trying to figure out if any of the regulars have tried out this ball yet. Also if you have either the SS or the blue slate, how does it compare?
-
how would this compare to Storm's Urethane release the Natural? i don't know how hard of a urethane they will use i believe 78-80 on durometer

The Ogre SS is a true medium oil, skid/flip pearl resin ball. It does not even belong in this conversation!!
Jason has already implied it, the OU, will go much straighter than the SBG, which has a much stronger core, and a pearl urethane cover. My Blue/Green Centaur hooks less than my SBGs.
If the Ogre Urethane is anything like the hard urethane Glowing Yellow Amulet (I used one briefly), it will go very straight. Jason likened it to a Pink Hammer, a killer dry lanes ball due to its carrying power.
FYI The Glowing Amulet,
http://www.visionarybowling.com/ball_glowingamulet.html
was considered to be hard. Its hardness was 78 - 81 on the scale.

If its like the Glow it would be cool. I get quite a bit of flare out of mine with very little hook. More than plastic, but not much.
