Wait about a week and I am sure there will be plenty of people here to tell you how they compare.

I believe the Ogre is going to be straighter and if I remember correctly, the Slate Blue would actually offer more hook if sanded when compared to the same sanding on the Ogre Urethane.  Something to do with the hardness of the urethane for the Ogre.

Plus the Ogre is a solid and the Slate Blue is a pearl with a stronger core!!

FWIW a pearl urethane is still a urethane and you really need a higher than average pin position to insure some length.

Man, I have yet to find a home with my slate blue.   It's been the one Visionary ball I've had I cant figure out.  With it OOB, or close to it, it hates carry down but when it hits friction its very flippy, so I had issues with it carrying and fighting over under.

I tried knocking the polish off, and even at a higher grit the ball was too strong for what I wanted it to be.  So right now I have L/LM surface cutting compound on it () at 800 and it hooks as hard as my FMG, so if something happens to it I have something to replace it with.

But lots of people have had success with the ball, I'm eager to hear some reviews and see what people say about the ball too.

So, Rod (REvans284), it must be the drilling. How have you got it drilled?(Also what's your PAP and axis tilt? I've forgotten. It's been a long time.)

Of course, it does not do well in carrydown, few polished balls do, plus it's only a pearl urethane. I find the overall movement of mine is fairly strong, but the backend is still relatively muted compared to most resins, even with my old release which used to add quite a bit of backend to most balls.

I'll take a picture and upload it.  It was "eyeball" drilled but its pin down roughly 4 x 4 1/2 (shorter pin ball at just below 2" so I didnt have alot of options).

My PAP is 4 1/2 x 1/2 ^
