Ok, finally had time to drill a G-3.
And i remember hamster comparing it to an xfactor, and he is exactly right.
Ball is golden! Absolutely golden. I had the First Gyphon and no longer have it but it was layed out stronger than this one was and they get the same amount of length. They have about the same about of midlane roll as well, but the pearl cover gives it a very nice finish on the backends. Ball carries wonders. The First Gryphon i had was drilled 4 1/2 x 3 1/2 and was nice through the heads and finished well, but sometimes was a little flat compared to this ball.
I layed this one out 5 x2 and the ball starts to really pick up ball motion around 35 feet getting past the oil at 40 and then starts to flip just continuously. it's really like the xfactor because the original XF was not a skid flip/snap ball it was a hard arc. this is what the new G-3 is. I would predict this ball to be an improvement on the X factor, because it's even smoother through the heads.
By the way, i did alter the surface on the ball. I took a green scrub pad to it and then took 600 polish to it. the box finish was very skiddy.
I would compare length between this ball and the original Blue spakle that this is going a couple feet more but finishes later and harder. The Blue sparkle had the pin above my ring finger, and the G-3 has the pin below the bridge. The seem to have the same amount of length from these two drillings.
So far very nice Medium ball, and no problems with the avearage amounts of carrydown.
