ok so i pulled the trigger and bought one. it only has a 1" pin so i now the pins going under my finger.  but how well is this thing on drier lanes? ive been have real problems with my playmaker on drier stuff and was hoping this would do the trick. but still have some pop on the back.    any  recommendations on drilling this ball with the short pin would be appreciated.

I've been using one won on Ebay, also with a 1" pin-CG, for a few weeks now. I wouldn't look for "dry", per se, to say the least. Because of that 1" pin, it's kind of an arc-y reaction, in general, but if you hit a bunch of dry out to the right, it will make a left turn for you (if you're a righty ).

If I play the oil line, I find it makes its defined move, a gentle but not weak arc, and its hitting power is more like Lanemasters for me, than like Visionary.

FYI When Bob Summerville, deceased publisher of BTM, tested the OW originally, he gave it a length of 6 and overall hook of 10. At that time, the Danger ZOne was a 2 in length and hook of 10. However, when he printed that year's summary, he changed the OW's rating from 6/10 to 3/10. I emailed him to ask him why, did he make a mistake? He told me, "No, that is now the true rating of the ball". It just stronger and stronger as time went on and it was not because he was wearing a track into the ball.

This past Tuesday I used in a league where a polished Razor Wire was going too long. It had been working perfectly there for the past 4 weeks. I took out the OW and it handled the medium oil, but not the wet/dry. Inside was a lot more oily. I was kind of surprised myself.

So I would not call this a light oil ball, UNLESS your ball speed is much higher than your rev rate.

I'm trading balls with a friend to get my hands on an NIB OW with a 3.5" pin-CG. Can't wait to see what this baby does. Will be drilling it before drilling up my Gladiator Pearl.

Since your drilling is very similar to mine (I put the pin in ring finger), I'd be interested in hearing how yours works for you. Your rev rate is a little higher than mine and your ball speed is a little higher. Please keep us informed.

i dont need it for carrydown, thats what rest of my stuff is for  the only reason i kept using it was because i wanted to keep bowling with it to get used to it.  but i think ill keep it polished
