I went with drilling recommendations from Steve ("tekneek" on ballreviews) and he had no problems or concerns about drilling close or into the pin (he's the one that punched the holes). He said the only balls he doesn't like to do that on is Brunswick/Morich. Something about them not using a solid pin marker. He said any other ball (Roto, Storm, Visionary, etc.) is fine to do that.
The Green/Blue flares less than an inch. I have only thrown it on a fresh shot (wish I would have had it last night, but I only took the two Ogres and the Frankie May for league). It is going to be a great light/spotty oil ball (if I ever see those conditions again). I will post more info when I can throw and compare more.
The Frankie May looks to be the most verstile ball out of them. I have thrown it on med/light and was able to swing it wide. Last night on the fresh/light stuff it was just a bit strong in the back, so I went down to the Ogres. I am hoping to see some heavy stuff because I think it will be a monster in the soup with a regular old down and in shot.
In my Thursday night league we usually see a nice med/heavy fresh shot, but last night they went lighter on us and I left the Green/Blue and the Slate Blue at home and am kicking myself for it. Would have been a great night to throw those.
I will be out of town for the next week, but hopefully next weekend I can get some videos made up comparing the balls.
Thanks guys!
