What did you use as the underlying grit level before applied the polish?

What kind of polish did you use and how did you apply it?

I had tried several combinations previously of 500 + 3m Finesse II( all on a spinner), and 500, 1000 + polish. My latest was 360,  then grey scotch brite w 3m and this seems to have done the trick. Thank you

If I may make a suggestion, try to not use so much pressure and/or polish that you obliterate the underlying grit. 

FYI Grey Scotch-Brite is about 800 grit CAMI or 1600 grit FEPA; so, a 1500 grit (FEPA) pad is a good medium starting point when trying to put a polish on a ball. You can use more pressure and polish to get a higher gloss shine or you can use more (lower numerical) roughness on the underlying grit (750 or 1000) and use varying degrees of shine.

Thank you. Thinking back on it I think the Grey scotchbrite was what I used on my RSP. And yes I was trying to use much lighter pressure with sanding at least. May try this with the polishing next time;)
Where is the best place to get scotchbrite from? So is the Siar 1500 close to the grey scotchbrite then? Thank you again.

Yes, Siaair 1500 is very close to the Scotch-Brite light grey pad.

I've found the pads for fairly cheap over on Amazon but you need to buy a box of 20. See

If you buy less, any internet place has to charge shipping. $1 each is a very good price these days. Check local hardware, WalMart, Home Depot, Lowe types of places and car supply places; you save on shipping if you only need 3 or 4 of each one.
