I just wanted to share with you guys some info on one of the compounds i use. It was referred to me from Buzzsaw Mike a several years ago. I have used it on every make & model and it works great and is fairly inexpensive.
Its mother mag & aluminum wheel polish. Its a paste with fine abrasives in it.
You can go from 400 grit wet sand straight to the mothers and get a high gloss finish on a spinner it will be close to 1200-1500 finish. It will take out the sand lines and give the ball a great shine with out clogging the pores.
Use a good cloth rag and keep your spray bottle handy spray the ball as needed

Years ago, I used Turtle Wax on a bowling ball.  Their ball polishers were horrible so I went a buffed in some wax into the cover and then into one of those machines ran by quarters it went.  Came out all nice and shiny and worked wonders when the lanes were fried, which was quite often over there.
