Here is what I know from the VSP balls I have actually thrown so far.
Ogre Solid - This ball is very archy and smooth in nature. At box finish in reminds me of a urethane ball in the fronts, with a reactive reaction on the back. Once I took the ball to 1000 grit, it gets down the lane much better, with the same smooth backend move, and about 2-4 boards stronger than the pearl.
Ogre Pearl - average length, with a strong continuous arc on the backend. For me, this ball thru the heads very cleanly, but makes it's move earlier than you would expect for a pearl reactive. This ball has more of a particle type reaction, than a peal type reaction. I would recommend a weaker layout on this ball, as the move is so strong, that it tends to drive thru the 5 pin, and leaves alot of solid 9 pins.
Slate Blue Gargoyle - for a pearl urethane, this ball is strong. great length, with a very reactive like strong backend move. This is simply the best dry lane ball I have ever thrown. If they have one in stock, I would grab it.
I also have a Frankie May, but haven't had a chance to throw it. Hope this helps.
