Rejuvenate Particle
« on: January 26, 2009, 10:13:20 PM »
What's the best way to get that particle back up on Visionary equipment?

I've got a friend who has a PIE that has used 600 scotch-brite dry on it and it's a smooth feeling over the surface.  Not the OOB surface feel to it.  Ball is not oil soaked.

Anybody got a good method to bring that particle OOB surface back?

Ah, the good ole Purple Ice Executioner.

Take a piece of 600-grit Sandpaper and use alot of water when you're using it on the spinner.  The continuation of water will allow the cover to heat up without damaging or breaking the particle that is in the cover.  The heat will open up the pores and give you that nice gritty particle feel after you dry it off.

Use paper towels to dry the ball off.

Here's the response from Jason verbatim.  I'd save this if you may have the need at some point in time to bring one of the Visionary particle balls back to OOB surface.  Thnanks for the answer Jason and also Stephen.

To bring the purple ice back to box condition, they simply need to give it a good hot water and detergent bath, followed by sanding it with 320 grit sandpaper using plenty of water.  This should break into a new layer of particle and remove some of the old track.  Then simply use 600 grit sandpaper with a lot of water and he should have it back to box with that fuzzy feeling.  Don't dry sand it, because it will clog the sandpaper and smooth out the particles.  The same process can be done with the Midnight Scorcher, the Granite Gargoyle, and the Ogre Particle because they all use the same type of particle.
