Rico drilled ogre pearl
« on: October 23, 2008, 01:15:49 AM »
Recently drilled a ogre pearl with the Rico drilling (box surface).  I will put up a review once i get more games on it.

So far i really like it.  I bowled in a tourney where i had alot of over/under reaction.  This ball worked great.  I also thew it on Tuesday on a drier condition with alot of success.  i have to be careful not to wheel it.  it carries better the straighter i go.

I think a may drill a regular ogre this way also.

On another note, a friend of mine drilled up a ogre particle.  i was amazed at the surface.  It felt like a beard after throwing it a couple of games.  It seems that this ball may maintain its surface longer than the some of the other balls.  I just got a dimension.  It glosses up way to quick. i will have to take the abralon pad to that ball every 3 games.

What surface is your friend's Particle at? Ive tweaked mine a couple times and have found I really like it at maroon/burgandy pad. You should feel the surface then!

If you take the Ogre Particle to maroon scotchbrite 320 grit....you're gonna need some heavy head oil/longish pattern but for that lane condition at that surface it definietly can't be beat!

HAHA Be against Particle all you want my Orge Particle still has a box finish on it and i got it for my birthday about a month and a half ago and hive thrown 3 279's with it, that ball just doesn't care about oil it reacts almost the same once it hits about 40 feet that ball just turns straight to the pocket and even though its particle still carries great momentum and doesn't burn up like other particle balls i've had killer birthday present thank you Red Powell!!
