Ok here we go,
Will start with this:
http://www.rollrite.co.uk/secrets.php?id=11This is a ref page of the 315 layout.
Also, on the bottom of the page is a degree layout
with the reaction that each layout will give.
The two Charcoals that I have drilled are drilled:
315 looking pretty much like the sheet, but my pin is at a levreage
distance from my pap.
105 (label) with the pin in the same spot as the 315 ball, but the cg
is in the palm (dead center).
Reaction shapes are as such:
315: Imagine a hockey stick skid snap, but the reaction is not as strong.
Instead of a "90" it is more like an arc.
Label leverage: This ball gives a strong arc with continuous backend.
Basically a bananna shape.
I don't know oil specs for league, but lets call it a med oil shot.
The 105 exe had to be polished to about 800 to be able to do anything on
the lanes, and even then it was only for about the 1st game, maybe half
of the second. I take this ball and play the 3rd arrow (18 board), standing
1-2 dots from the left. This drill is strong. On the charcoal, I would use it on a heavy oil, or only if you have high ball speed. I would call this ball a swingshot layout.
The 315 is polished to about 1000. This ball is a down and in, or inside
line ball. I take the 315 and play the 2nd arrow (13 board +/- 3 boards) standing 2-3 dots from the left. The ball is very forgiving in the heads basically going straight for about the first 35-45 feet. The transition at the breakpoint is smooth but strong. I would call this one a down and in ball. Although as the lanes dry out, I cam move left and play this ball over the 18. I can take this ball and bowl for 3 games in leagues, and only have to move at most 5 boards left.
Take a peek at this, and I'll answer any questions that I can.
