Last night was a very cold/hot sort of evening.
Game 1: 182
Started off in practice throwing the ball well, but hurt my neck shoulder. The game seemed well enough off, but the ball wasn't finishing and I couldn't get any carry and I missed two 10-pins out of frustration. I was throwing the New Breed Particle Pearl and it didn't seem like the ball was burning up early, but just not driving. I needed to strike out in the 10th frame to win the match for our team, but after another first shot 10-pin it didn't happen. After converting I was torn on wether to throw a different ball for practice, but decided to stick it out.... wrong move and only filled with 7.
Game 2: 300
I started this game with a new ball and a guess on how it would react. I grabbed the New Breed Pearl (more length and angle by coverstock and drilling) and I went to work. This match is sorta of a blur so here is what I remember. I threw three absolute garbage shots. Two were brooklyn where I tugged the ball and the last was just really really light. Aside from that though everything was pretty good including the dramatic 12th ball. I hit pocket and the 10 stood saluting me, I looked down and missed two messengers come moving at a turtle speed across the deck to drop out the 10th. This was my first sanctioned 300 and man was it insane. I'm sure I looked like a wind sock up on there shaking on the approach in the 10th.
Game 3: 171
Between all the celebrating, free beer, paper work, etc I just wasn't in this. I wanted to do well, but just couldn't focus and I was being repaid for the bad shots in the 300 game. I left a pocket 7-10 as well as another pocket split and some other random garbage on seemingly good shots.
So a 653 me, not great, but that elusive first 300!

Congrats on the accomplishment. The feeling of the first 300 is one you'll never forget. Who cares what the shots looked like. The number "300" still looks the same on the score sheet and the ring you will be receiving. Way to go and hopefully many more.

In addition I've been in the hunt a couple of times since then missing the 300 three times in the last month by singular wobbling 10-pins.

Congratulations on the 300!
