With that wrap around it, that looks like a slighlty modified Gryphon core.  (Which is the Gargoyle core anyways).  I bet that ball is going to hurt the pins once it gets to the pocket!!!!.

Finally! At last a company realizes how to make a dry lane ball. Resin never works, and a weak core sacrafices too much power. Thank god visionary is so smart. Weak surface and real core is better than strong surface and (vitrtually)no core. I cant wait to get my hands on this. I have a Granite Gargoyle(heavy or long), a Wicked(med or league), and an accura (spare). This thing will fit in perfectly. Does anyone think i should get a green gargoyle to replace my Wicked so i'll have a gargoyle arsenal? I may consider it when i get more money

Bujo --- I was thinking the same thing.  I'm thinking that a arsenal of Gargoyles (Slate, Green & Granite) could cover just about everything, especially if I perfect my adjustments.

You might need to consider something other than the Granite for the floods unless you doctor up the cover.

My friend throws one of those and it's super versatile, just not real effective in longer heavier oils.  You'll be able to handle almost everything you see with the Granite.

Is this new urethane ball pearl, or polished solid?

Are you sure about this???  BBR's specs only say 1500 polished urethane.  Just because it has swirling in the color doesn't automatically make it a pearl.

Actually I'm not sure.....I thought I was but now I'm just speculating.  I guess I heard rumors and kept them in my head.  Oh well..........but don't you think a solid polished urethane will be too much ball for lighter conditions?

I had and original two piece red hammer urethane pearl that was too much ball for toast.

Damn...I thought so...........with that core a solid urethane would be off the charts for lighter patterns.  I guess I didn't hear rumors after all.

I also emailed Visionary a few minutes ago myself to make sure, but I didn't get anything from them yet.

Thanks for checking guys.  Sound great to me.  I've been wanting something like this for a while.  Looks like I'll be able to save a few bucks over an XXL.

Slate Gargoyle:  RG = 2.59, diff = 0.038

XXL: RG = 2.557, diff = 0.024

My only concerns are for the higher differential (flare) on the Gargoyle and the rumored cracking problems Visionary had with the Glowing Amulet's urethane.
