Use a further pin-pap distance -- something like 4.5-5.5
Even putting the pin this far from your PAP will allow the balls to flare a TON. If you leverage the balls for max flare, it's possible for the ball to "over-flare." Visionary covers are strong too -- so I don't think you will have to worry about the balls not hooking.
Where are you looking for the Solid and Pearl to fit in your arsenal? The Frankie May is a great medium-heavy benchmark -- smooth, powerful roll and very readable. The Pearl will most likely be a step down from the FMG, and the Solid a step up. The ball motion shapes created by the higher differential cores should give you a different look on the lanes, too.
How do you evaluate your current arsenal? In terms of oil handling, I see the Solid as just under the Mean Machine, the FMG as around the Machine, Inertia, Solution PP area, the Pearl as around the Freakazoid, and the Slate Blue as under the Desert Heat...
