I am debating drilling up the Immortal Solid, Immortal Pearl, AMB Solid, AMB Pearl.

I have drilled up a couple of each in the past and none of them seemed to hook as much as I thought they would, especially the solids.

With these strong cores should I drill them with a longer pin to pap?

My pap is 4 5/16 over and 1/4 up, my ball speed is between 16 and 17mph, I get around the ball pretty well.

YES!!! They already flare quite a bit on their own so a pin to PAP around 4 3/4 to 5 inches would work pretty well. That is the issue with some bowlers in the past with these balls is the driller puts the pin at 3.5-4 inches from PAP and the balls rev up and die. Even with the pin at 5 inches with your rev rate, you can still expect 4-5 inches of flare. You could probably even take the AMB Pearl or Immortal Pearl and put the pin at 5.5 inches.

With these balls having both high RG differentials and an apparently fairly strong mass bias, unless you have a good amount of oil or a higher ball speed, they may wind up not hooking a lot at all, especially the solids. While I would recommend a 6" pin to PAP, for anyone with decent revs, I'd recommend pins in the 5" range, more or less, and be careful where you put the MB marker. It is of secondary importance to the in's position but its correct location is very important.

I found even the AMB pearl, the golden one, needed a fairly long and high pin to PAP and a decent amount of head oil, to conserve energy.

The flare I got out of the other ones I drilled was a hugh, the flare would almost cover the whole ball, I put a weight hole on my pap and I would have a flare ring going right over the middle of the weight hole.

I drilled a AMB Solid 45 x 4 1/2 x 35 and the thing almost flarred the whole ball.

I would raise that 45 degree number to around 60-70 degrees. Honestly, these balls dont even need weight holes because of how much they flare. Then, just use cover prep to adjust the breakpoint.

Do a pin above bridge, MB about inch right of thumb, and no weight hole and see what happens. You will still get plenty of flare and hook potential with that higher end equipment.

ABSOLUTELY!!!! Start there with one ball, get an idea and then drill the rest based on what you see. Leave it out of box finish at the beginning.

Keep the drillings pretty similar with all the balls but tweak slightly. If you do a 70 x 5.5 on the first ball, do a 65 x 5 on the next ball.

everytime I lay the ball out with the 70 x 5.5 x 35 the VMB ends up next to my thumb, and the cg ends up on the negative side of my grip center, should I try it like that and see how it works or should I make some tweaks to the numbers.

How about doing rico on these balls? I would worry about the ball flaring over the weighthole though.

Suggestion spin it up to determine PSA/MB. I spun my Bronze Centaur and it was a 1/2" left of where the VMB was supposed to be.

I have my Bronze laid out pin over bridge and VMB/PSA 1" right of thumb. Works well on medium conditions 4"s + of flare but not over flaring gets decent length and arc/roll.

There is nothing wrong with that because the layout is based on your PAP. A 70 x 5.5 for you is going to look different on a ball than a 70 x 5.5 would look for me. There isnt anyone on this Earth except for maybe Mo Pinel himself, that could even think about looking at a ball without knowing your PAP and telling you "This ball is drilled wrong".
