Gladiator Pearl
« on: January 11, 2011, 06:24:47 AM »
What a ball this is.  I've had it for about a year now and this thing still amazes me.  Some days I'm off with it (which is usually my fault), but when I'm on, there's nothing that stops pins from falling with it.  Just rolled a personal best of a 255 game w/ it for a 672 series...also a personal best.  Too bad it was just practice, but I was messing around with 3 other balls at the same time.  I dont care what balls cycle thru my bag this one will always be in it, that is unless I get a new one...ha!

Congrats on your new personal highs - now you have to go do that in league since you now know you can.  Let us know when you post a new personal record.

Thanks!  Yeah, the trick is being able to do it in league when there's a million distractions going on.  Plus right now I'm just bowling in a mixed league on Fridays which there is less competition and more beer drinking then some leagues I've been on.  Which is cool that I got in a league so quick since I just moved.  My high series in a league tho is 627.  I'm getting there!  I'm going to throw the GP this Friday and see what I can do.  :)

Congrats on the game/series, even if just practice....and in finding a new friend in the ball!  The Glad Pearl is really a great ball that's ideal for medium to light oil and isn't overly aggressive, I guess depending on how you have it drilled.

Pulled mine out the other night and I really think I need to get back to this ball more often than not!!

The way I have it drilled is found here.  I dont have all the technical stuff on it tho because it was a used ball that I just moved the fingers on.  Yeah, I've got to have the right conditions because I have had it skid way too far on me before.  If I slow it down though, it will get into more of a roll and break harder on the back ends, especially when they're fresh.  Either that or I dont have any beers...ha!  Either way, it's a great ball that keeps the pins low and it is very forgiving on light and brooklyn shots.  If it's not working tho I put it away and go to my Wild Thing....altho I'm really diggin my new Lunatic.

Love mine; have two, one for early rolling strong arc and another for longer length and a bigger back end.  They compliment each other well.

Unfortunately I dropped down to 15lbs and they sit on the rack now.

Nice. Keep getting those high scores.

With the way my G Pearl is drilled, it hooks a bunch. When it encounters some dry, It is hooking. Love the power of this pearl coverstock.
