Strong Pearl
« on: May 13, 2009, 03:31:17 AM »
This past year and a half I have been throwing visionary and I love them. My favorite so far is the ogre soild. I've also used the ogre pearl, BG centaur and the amb particle. What I want to try now is the strongest pearl visionary has to offer. I'm looking for something that has alot of movement on the backend. Anybody have any suggestions?

Call Besty and see if they still have some Immortal pearl left. that is the strongest pearl they have.

Are you can try the new Breed pearl or Gladiator Pearl both are good balls

G-3 Gryphon also ha s lot of potential. The core is strong, and if drilled to go long flip, this is a sharp ball. But I am not sure how it compares to the more modern New Breed Pearl.

And - if you want lots of movement - the Immortal Pearl is a ball to look for. Recently discontinued, but one of the balls with the biggest flare potential/differential in recent times. Drill it strong, and it will probably hook off the lanes if you have some hand and lower speed...

Thanks for the replys. The balls you mentioned are the ones I've been thinking about trying.
I throw a more direct line and would like to see a ball that goes long and turns hard at the end.

I dont know about the others, but with the Immortal and the G-3 you are going to need to move deeper. For me they are not up the boards kind of balls. There was also a post on here that had a reply from Jason saying the NB would be the strongest, if the pearl is as strong as the solid I couldnt use it.

I just wanted to add my two cents to this.  several people have said the immortal pearl.  The problem I have with it, is that it actually can skate through the breakpoint if there is oil out there.  I would be more inclined to think either the new breed or the gladiator.

I had the same problem with the Immortal. I sanded it to 4000 abr. and its a monster. It flares crazy, starts wide tightens up then gets wide again, goes past the VAL. Every bit of 10" or more. It looks like an improved No Mercy, same late midlane and hard snap, but doesnt hook set or roll out. I think the G-3 uses the same cover. My favorite is actually the bronze AMB, that ball is sweet. I have nothing else that rolls like it.
Ive found that I like VBP pearls better every time with exception of the pink/blue AMB. Ogre, IS, AMB particle, and NB are too strong.

I would suggest the New Breed Pearl. It is much more drilling friendly than the Immortal Pearl. I have both right now and the New Breed is more "even", meaning I get the same reaction each time I throw it. With the IP I see a bit of over/under. Still really trying to figure it out. When it all is right, look out. But I see more movement out of the New Breed Pearl. I do not have the Bronze or the G3. I think that videoballreviews has videos of the bronze..?

I would think the bronze would be similar to the Ogre Pearl

Because the Immortals are not as easy to drill as many.....and since I have rolled every pearl ball that Visionary has made if you are talking about overall hook with a lot of back end THEN without a doubt it's the G-3 Gryphon.   New Breed Pearl is mild compared to a G-3.

This topic is interesting....Jason and I were just talking last week or so about hook ratings and how many calls he's received in the past questioning why they don't have the hook ratings for the balls.

My opinion is there is no fact.  The talk in this thread is of the Bronze Centaur, Immortal, G3, Ogre Pearl, Gladiator Pearl and New Breed Pearl.  We could add to that the Ogre SS as well just to create a very well rounded list of balls.

But the thing is that everyone has an opinion.....and look at the different variables that go into each opinion....ball speed, hand (amount of and tilt), lanes, conditions, drilling....etc.

I could add to the thoughts here that of them, I really think the NB Pearl is probably the strongest followed closely by the G3.  And the funny thing of it all is that I've thrown 4 300s and 1 297 in the last year, all with good ole VBP products.....Ogre Pearl, Gladiator Pear (297 then 300), NB Pearl and G3.  The funny thing of it is that all 5 games were all thrown playing a down and in shot.....same basic line for each ball.

Point is I played 5 different pearl all in the same area....even though I do believe that for me on my usual shot, the NB Pearl is the best and strongest.  It's all opinion though....as they are all truly good, strong pearls.  End of sentence.
