dizz's G-3 Review
« on: February 23, 2009, 10:05:32 PM »
dizz just posed this review.  This is how a review should look.  http://www.ballreviews.com/Reviews/Reviews.asp?BallID=485&ManufacterID=13&ReviewID=30727

Great job and thanks for taking the time to write a very in depth review.

Thanks!

Thanks a lot, scotts

I hope it is not too long - I wanted to try the ball on more/different lanes, but it started becoming excessive, so this must be enough... for the moment.

Just hope I can provide some insights and comparisons!

Hey Dizz, try being more thorough next time . I'm kidding

That was a very good review on the ball. I have mine sitting around that I got used and I plugged, just don't know what I want to do with it yet.

But yeah Dizz that was a great review!

Very thorough job.

By the time you read the review, the ball has gone out of style lol

Very good review.
IT was one of those reviews where you start to ask "what is his a?"
Read the nnext line and there it is.  "What is his b?" Read the next line and there it is.

I think he needs to be in a bowling mag doing reviews

Thank you very much for the (positive) feedback, guys. I have been editing since I got the ball on November, offline. I just had the opportunity to get the video together last weekend - even though I had to live with only a THS - and finally put it online.

Still pondering about the format - this time I tried to incorporate a subjective rating scale at the end, because I want to make my impressions more comparable. Not sure if or how it helps, but I guess it could be something that would help with reviews in general here.

Nevertheless, I find it very hard to keep the line betweeen being detailed, so the reactions etc. I try to describe have a reference point, this is a very tricky task. Overkill can come quickly...

But: it IS possible to write reviews without the word "truck" in it!

Again, thanks a lot, and I hope you enjoy the post and find some "truth" in it.

I'm so lazy that i just skimmed it and watched the video I won't even lie. It was long but I don't doubt that it was enlightening. I can appreciate his time and effort.

Yes, I know, my game is not the best - but I do not claim to be a good bowler. I consider myself mediocre, but at least I think I know what I am doing, and why

I just have not enough time to do frequent training, esp. right now. That's also a reason why it took so long to get everything together for the review.

In the video you can see some shots where I am way off balance at the foul line, but I took it "as it is". I also did some shots with the hand more behind the ball, but this release was rather ineffective on the THS at hand. While the overall reaction was more pronounced and "clearer", I was not able to get any of the balls into the 1-3 pocket. So I used some more side rotation to make the balls skid longer (you can see it well on the shots from behind, esp. on the FMG), and even then I had a hard time with the FMG getting it into the 1-3 pocket... On a longer/opilier shot, I guess I would also have had a more distinctive read on the balls reactions, but I did not want to wait any longer for "better" oil and used the THS footage.

But, anyway, you are correct that my game still can need some good improvements
