The center I bowl at recently changed owndership/management--back in nov/dec....they have done renovations to the lanes, new lanes ...also they are stripping the lanes more often..this center used to only strip them once a week , but now I am told by the pro shop guy that the new ownership wants to keep the backends clean..this coupled with the new lanes that have not had a chance for the oil to get embedded into the backend of the lanes is killing my game & my average.
I am a lefty down & in stroker type. Before the past couple of months while they were doing the renovations, my weapons of choice have been one of my 2 midnight scorchers & my purple ice executioner. The way the lanes are now, even my purple ice , which is designed not to be snappy on the back end, much like the scorher is for heavier volumes of oil, is snapping like crazy. I am seeking a ball that will resemble my purple ice the first 2/3 of the lane , but be even less snappy than the purple ice, if there is even such a thing.
My infra-red amulet, skates to much on the front part of the lane so that doesn't help in this case. A couple of weeks backs, I dragged out my blue green centaur--which never really matched up well with me and knocked off the polish I had on it and took the cover down to 320, figuring the cover is agressive enough to handle the oil up front, while being much less snappy on the back. Made a lot of mistakes with my bowling that game, score was good anyways--last week it didn't work because for whatever reason the backends were not squeaky clean..will try it again on tuesday to see if that ball will be the ticket, if not...............
I was considering the slate blue gargoyle, going by the backend numbers visionary gives it compared to the purple ice ,it seems to be where I want the backend reaction to be at--that and the fact that they currently have 10 available in my weight on ebay right now----...but can that ball be manipulated though drilling(I have the purple ice drilled with a length drilling with very little recovery and nicely polished with beans secret sauce) and coverstock to react like the purple on the front part of the lane and just be much less snappy on the back, which Is desperately need right now?
Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated.
Need to stop my huge average slide..although I started slumping before they started to redo the lanes--so my team says--I dont know bout that--but since early january I have gone down from 218 to 204, with the low point being yesterday when I barely cracked 400.
Thanx,
Brad
