Thanks for being mature indiviiduals in your postings.

After readings some of the stuff that goes on in other manufacturer's forums it is refreshing to see Visionary users ask questions and get good answers in an intelligent way.

Thanks Scott!

Morning Scott,

I did pick up the SS a few weeks ago and will give a report on it.  I have thrown the solid ogre some and have not drilled up the pearl ogre yet.  I just might go with the solid (with a tad of polish) and the ss drilled at 60 degrees.  The pearl will sit on the bench for some time.

Hi Darin,

Good to hear.  I am going to get an SS in the next bunch they have available.  Will using the 1-2-3 punch of all the Ogre's this year.  I'll set up my SS  longish pin to PAP <pin above ring and 90 deg>.  Much like twister did.

How you golfing?

Scott, Have to agree with you.

As a new user of Visionary I really enjoy reading in this forum.

Although the Track forum is also very good.

What ever happened to Jason? Have not seen him on here for some time .

Blue/Green is one of the best condition balls I have ever used.  It is a low flaring, mild cover reactive designed for use on drier conditions when your stronger reactives are reading too early.

I used mine on fresh house conditions because the backends were very strong, but the reaction I got was sweet.  For me it needs just a bit of oil in the heads, but really let me smooth out the wet/dry line without over reacting to it.  Also had about the tuest "roll" to it I have seen in a while, kind of reminds me of the roll my old pink hammer had, back in the day, true, stong roll without all the snap/hook.  Just smooth and true, not to mention it carried as well or better than anything in my bag.

Good ball.  One of the few that I would be interested in buying again.

pop_1,

I like the Blue-Green Centaur and use it as a piece on wet/dry blocked THS conditions.  Doesn't over react on the dry and wet keeps it well there.  Great down and in ball with enough hit to carry.

Some bowlers like it as a move in inside piece I do not.  I'd prefer to use  a ball like the G-3, Pearl Ogre, SS Ogre inside as I get better carry with these types of balls on a deeper inside line.  YMMV as technique and lane condition will vary.

Thanks for the info on the Centaur.  It sounds like the ball I've been looking for.  Just started using Visionary again and need to get caught up.  The last ones I used were Warlocks and Gargoyles.

Scott,
golf has been good so far..just waiting for the shoe to drop, I guess.  I'm not sure if I want to go with the three ball lineup just yet.  For only bowling one league (THS) I think I can get by with the solid and ss.  The solid with pin up and a 60 degree is a beast.  Dollar to dollar no one can beat the Visionary line right now.  The best thing with Visionary is the solid pins....I can drill into them and not worry about any cracking.  A huge plus for us do-it-selfers.

I agree 6cranker.

FYI..............pop_1 I looked up my old review on the Blue-Green Centaur that I posted in 2004.  Here it is verbatim.  Might give you a more in depth look.  I have dropped speed since then and my PAP now is 4 7/8" over and 0.

Pin above fingers centered above bridge

CG kicked right 1 1/2"s from grip center on horiz. center line

X hole 5/8" diam. 3" deep on VAL 1" below horiz. center line

My Specs

Right handed male consider myself tweener

Axis angle 45 deg.

Axis point 4 7/8" over 1/2" up

RPM 325

MPH at 10' 18 mph consider myself medium speed

Overall

I have had this ball since beginning of 04 season and now have enough games on it to give it a fair review. Tried this ball from Visionary for THS wet/dry more for control than anything. Nice surprize. Can play dry on THS and not have the over reaction you see on most equipment these days. Have not had my feet this far right on lane in years. Had to get used to playing lane squarer like back in 60s & 70s. If you are looking for ball to cover a lot of boards this is not the one. If looking for a ball that allows a player to go more down and in or with small head belly with great hit and carry this is your ball to try. One of the better kept secrets around.

Lane Conditions Used On

1.) House shot #1. Brunswick house older wood with Guardian overlay in heads new summer of 04. Lane conditioner Kegel Offense length has varied 38 ft. to 42 ft. over season. Good kickbacks, pin decks and pins. Propreitor likes to put down a THS puddle in middle and very dry outside of 9-10 to gutter. I can play 7-8 in the dry starting and not have to over reaction you usually see and move into lane as heads go. I did take ball to 1200 Storm Step #2 to allow for a lil more backend and carry. With the high Rg ball lopes thru heads easily and gets in a good midlane roll though not as noticeable as many lower Rg balls. Carry relatively high for a lower flaring ball. Solid reactive cover is reasonably strong but I believe the modified DC core is the main reason for good carry. Have scored many good 200 games highest so far 279. Main reason I'll put it away is for lane conditioner carry down. Because of the large puddle and Offense we get a moderate amount of carry down into 3rd game.

2.) House shot #2. 12 year old Brunswick center w/Anivilane 1st generation. Lane conditioner Kegel Offense. THS lil more outsides here 41 ft.. Overall a lil more of a more rounded pattern than 1st house. Still easy scoring condition probably easier for most because of the not so wet/dry condition. Again, I can play the dry near same line and carry is probably even better than the wood house. Here, I use a more lil more axis tilt when my game is on.

3.) PBA pattern A. Used this ball on A from 3 board to 8 board with very good results. Did not get the under over you might get with higher flaring equipment.

I had asked for more balls from Visionary with solid covers and this is the first out that many THBs can use right out of the box. Very well thought out ball. Hope this review helps BR users.

Hello All,

Sorry it's been a little while, but things have been extremely busy over the past few weeks.

So I'm a jerk now?........I see how you are......LOL

Anyway, just thought I would chime in and agree with almost all the comments in this thread (all except the jerk thing!!).  I can't express enough how much I appreciate the fact that our forum section remains at a higher level, and that we don't have the bickering that some of the others do.

OK, so back to work.....I noticed a few questions that need to be answered, so I am going to start up a Q&A part 2 this weekend when I have some time to devote the time necessary to answer the questions properly.  If anyone has questions that I miss from the other threads, by all means post them on the new Q&A thread.

Thanks again,

...still, a jerk.

Keep up the great work, Jason.  You've got a nice little following going on here.  Each day brings a few more faithful followers that enjoy working with a company that is happy to acknowledge it's fan base and tailor equipment to meet their respective needs.
