The Crow
« on: July 12, 2016, 12:52:47 PM »
Well .. Since it hit the USBC page its now official.

New ball : The Crow
Cover : Urethane
Core : Raven Core
Color: Black but "in the right light you see a hint of blood red" JW

Not sure when they will be ready to ship, but I would imagine in the next couple weeks.

Jason has not said one way or another if they want a Video for it.  It is a urethane ball after all, and by now we should all know how they react!!

My boy bowls on burnt up lanes on Saturday mornings.  This is going to be perfect for him.

Is the crow that much different from my ogre urethane?

Don

Yep...Ogre Urethane was a very hard urethane, very much like the original Hammer urethanes...which translates to a smaller footprint and lots of length, not to mention the Ogre core only had about .03 diff.

The Crow has a much more aggressive cover, plus a high diff, more aggressive core, and the cover is nowhere near as hard. This equates to a bigger footprint and a ball that will handle some oil. I would say if you still had the Urethane Ogre, you could add the Crow and have a ball well above the Ogre Urethane.

So if I wanted a urethane for spares, this wouldn't be it. More along the lines of a (stronger) Pitch Black maybe?

I'm really digging the looks to go with the name of this ball.

Thanks Wowsers! I still have it and use it. It is very hard and it hits even harder! But ONLY on the burn. I even roughed it up once- left back to back 8-10s. Polished it back up. I definetly know where it sits in my arsenal.

Coor...this is in no way a spare ball. Ball will pick up and want to roll. If you want a urethane for a spare ball, try to find an old Ogre Urethane if you are going to stick within the VBP line...if looking elsewhere, a Mix or an Arctic Sniper would fit the bill.

Don...No problem. You would see 2 distinct reactions if you get the Crow and left it out of box and left the Ogre Urethane with some shine. The Crow is not going to be a HEAVY oil ball as mentioned...no urethane would. But I would imagine this ball fits in the medium conditions with no problem if the surface is left out of box.

I talked to Jason and a Video will be done for the Crow.  As soon as we get ours, well get cracking.

Have not decided what kind of shot I will be using,  A fresh heavy long shot might not be the best idea, but we will see.

That would be great... only problem my house has 1 shot.  They are to lazy to program the machine.  I have talked to the GM and we're working on something
