Up next - Bronze Centaur AMB
« on: March 15, 2007, 01:08:59 AM »
Ok, after my first impression of Visionary with the Ogre being a good impression, I've decided to grab a Bronze Centaur AMB. After this, I think I'm going to sign up on the test staff.

Now, to those who have the Bronze Centaur AMB, what can I expect out of this ball? Reaction? Oil capability?

Your input is appreciated.

Can't really see the layout. What is it? Also, is yours polished or OOB? I like the reaction in the vid. Seems like it is long and smooth. Very nice.

In my honest opinion, probably one of the best balls Visionary have in their current lineup. Very strong pearlised ball, less angular than the G-3 Gryphon, more of an arcy pearl than a skid flip, heavy rolling, hard hitting, safe to say almost a medium condition ball.

My review from Jan. 2005

http://www.ballreviews.com/Reviews/Reviews.asp?ManufacterID=13&BallID=592&ReviewID=22163

To add to that review, i've broken the factory cover by using a grey scotch pad and then applied Storm #2 compound to the surface.  This has really helped in making the roll on this ball very predictable.  I've used both layouts (mentioned in the review) since modifying the cover.  I must say the review has changed some in that I'm able to play on the house shots much better and most of the tournaments through 2006 i've always had to throw either of these to really bowl well.

I think you'll find going with a 45 degree or 75 degree layout on this ball will give you a very good reaction.  This ball will read the mids even with the pearl cover, but if it tends to push through the front a little too far for you, then touch it lightly with a grey scotch brite and watch the ball come to life!

Best of luck....If you're interested in what these look like drilled, here is the link along with the rest of my Visionary arsenal.
