Urethane Ogre Video
« on: August 27, 2009, 04:48:42 PM »
Finally! I have it done. I threw it on two different days to get the video, so you will see 2 different lanes. I also compare it to the SS Ogre, just to see the difference from the Urethane to a Reactive coverstock. The lanes are wood and the shot was fresh prior to me bowling on them. I had throw about 3 games when I started throwing the Urethane.

Feel free to ask questions, I will see if I can help.

Nice job Mike.

Comparison on ball, even if only one shot, was nice because you are clearly able to see the backend snap the SS has versus what the Urethane didn't have.

tdub36tjt, I'd bet that if you're able to put a little more than 320 on the ball, you'll do fine moving a little right with the ball.

The Ogre U is money in the bank.  Fits perfectly in between plastic and reactive.  It will do exactly what your hand and fingers give it every time. The symmetrical block is so consistent.  It forces you to roll the ball and stay focused and mindful of your target on each shot.  After practicing with the Ogre U for about 6 games and then switching to the Ogre SS the lane really opened up.  This ball will be great on short, light or dry lanes and is a very valuable training tool too.  A must have in your Visionary bag!!!

Good video MC.

I wanted to point out one facet that some may have thought about in using a ball like the OU.

It's my opinion for some that they may not move far enough to the outside of the lane using a ball like the OU.  Out of their track comfort zone as it were.  If you say slide near 20 it maybe hard to move further outside to slide on 15 and work the outside parallel to the gutter say 4-5 board to allow the OU to roll up.  Of course this is all dependent on amount of oil put across the lane.  My point being the OU would allow a player to move further outside than normally allowed to on a average wet/dry THS lane condition that many see.

I think this ball could be a savior to a slower speed senior who wants to play more down and in and can't play his/her preferred line with the more powerful inside out modern equipment of today.

Just something to munch on.

I haven't gotten mine yet probably late this week.

Thinking pin right and above ring and CG stacked below.......drilling angle and VAL angle not known for sure til I talk to my driller.  He has drilled some Storm Natural's and will have some input.

I'll report back!

Nice vid. I here alot of good things about Rick, was thinking of going to taylorville to have him punch my next ball.

You should. I have never had any issues with the fit when he is done, but other drillers always end up going back and having something adjusted. When you go, let him know you are on here and saw the videos.
