ogre particle for light oil?
« on: October 14, 2009, 02:15:26 PM »
I'm thinking maybe the ogre particle might be a good choice for a light oil ball.depends on the particle load in the ball and type of particle.and ofcourse how easy this ball takes cover changes and polish.
Thoughts?

six pack,

I understand what you are trying to do.  Don't disagree with you either.  Light oil I am not sure about but seems you are trying to control the backend but still drive thru on carried down lanes with depleted heads?  I have done this with higher Rg balls heavier particle load w/ polish ie. Bruns Navy Fuze & Leg Yeah Baby) but for true light oil I couldn't use these.

You mentioned glass particles.  TEC?

that's just what I'm talking about.

1- Phenom is no Ogre Particle
2- Urethane....

I've tried it on a track phenom with great results, better then any light oil reactive and most urethanes.I'm not sure on the type of particle in the phenom though.how would you like to have a light oil ball that is never jumpy and carries? I think the high load in the phenom makes the ball less reactive and the lay out and cover adjustments get it down the lane.I've not had much luck with particle pearls as they are more reactive due to the low particle load.
the one thing I hate most are these light oil reactives that always hook to much or have poor performance.

so your saying the Ogre Particle is stronger?

IMHO, in oil, the Ogre Particle is much stronger. The only two balls that I've thrown that are in the same ballpark in oil as the OP are the AMB Particle and the Super Carbide Bomb.

got it! if you ever get bored maybe you could give your OP a shine and try it.I don't know if I will pick one up to experiment on unless I get one in a trade and I never see what I would call heavy oil any more.
