VBP Vs Storm/Roto

How do you think VBP's stuff stacks up against Strom and RotoGrips? Is VBP's stuff earlier? Weaker? Carry? let me know what you think.

Both companies provide good equipment.  You can find any kind of ball reaction as far as I am concerned in both manufacturers.  Depends on how well you can get your equipment laid out to match the lane conditions you are playing.

What I like about the VBP balls I had so far is that they actually do exactly as advertised. No hype. Look what you need, get it, and it works. Maybe the balls a a bit conservative, concerning cores and coverstocks, but that's what actually makes these balls personal favorites.

I think you can find an answer to any question from both sides, and that's where the favoritism will lie as well.

I know I tried them when I had the Cell.  I found the Gladiator to be just as good and actually more usable than the Cell.  From that point on I got hooked.  And I will say that I am one of those people that saw the difference in overall reaction and carry......I've managed to toss 4 perfectos since starting to throw VBP!!  Before that??  None....though I did have 2 299s.

Since this is Visionary's forum, I assume you worried about their characteristics rather than Storm's. Vis has balls to cover the entire spectrum of oil patterns. Their balls last longer than all except Lanemasters. Their balls, like many others, hit very hard, when used on the right conditions. Their only "fault", if your ego can stand it, is they rarely have balls that will hook coast to coast so you can impress everyone else. They just seem to work if you line up correctly.

They also do not have/market balls that are identical to a previous one except that the surface is different. Most of their surface, (in fact, all now that I think of it) are very easy to modify. The Ogre series is a good example. The solid (AKA the Pumpkin) comes 600 grit US dull. It is usable at every grit level up to P4000 grit Abralon and with polish on every level of grit. I am hardly exaggerating when I say, you could have 4 Pumpkins and cover every house shot, except bone dry. This despite the Ogre Solid having an RG differential of only .031".

When you add the Ogre Pearl ("The Burple"), the Ogre SS and the Ogre Urethane, you have an arsenal without any surface changes. And this is just an example.

for someone who is new to visionary like myself i can sum up visionary's equiptment in two words SMOOTH and CONTROLABLE. over the past month i have drilled up a Green Gargoyle and a Blue Warlock and have been killing it this year so far no sets under 700 with an 806 and a 300. i have thrown many storms and rotogrips with moderate success but with visionary i can play a line longer and not have to worry about over reaction. compared to storm and roto visionary is a tad weaker and thats NOT a bad thing. visionary is also a tad bit earlier but thats what makes them smoother and more controlable. carry is not an issue they hit just as hard as anything out there. plus there customer service is rivaled by no one in the bussiness except for maybe Lane #1. if you are on the fence about trying visionary give them a go you wont be dissappointed.

I would not call them weaker - but rather earlier, for the smooth and controllable touch. My FMG for example is a VERY strong reactive, but it is easy to handle due to the not-so-overly-aggressive reaction off the dry. Sure, it needs head oil, but it hooks a lot without being jerky.

Anyway, IMHO VBP is pretty underrated.
