Visionary
« on: December 29, 2009, 02:20:31 PM »
Im a big storm guy, everything I throw now is Storm except for a Ogre SS. Im also a big home town guy. I will buy one product over another to support our home town of St Louis. So my question is why should I switch to Visionary?

I throw a dimension for heavy a gravity shift for medium oily, and a ogre SS for light. Plus I have a t road pearl for a ball I go to when other angels are exhausted.

How does Visionary compete with a major ball company like STorm? I know they have good pieces as all companies do, but what sets them apart? If I were to buy my next piece how can you say I should buy another ball besides an Invasion or a Reign solid? Where is the hype of this company? Sure they have particle pearls and urethanes, so who are you guys? Are you a specialty ball company mainly? Or do you compete for the major ball releases as well?

Im not trying to insult I just have not figured out Visionary yet, and I want an excuse to switch.

normy,
I just picked up an Ogre SS used and I'm VERY impressed with it.something I always wanted to try was to go with one line of bowling balls that are made for different conditions and the Ogre line is it.Particle,Solid,Strong Pearl,Skid Snap and now Urethane.if you match up well with the core then you have a whole arsenal that you can use your favorite lay out on and your good for years.off hand I can't think of any other manufacture that has put out such a line as the ogres.I also have the Blurple but will be a little while before I can get some plug work done on it.

Steve,

I would agree about the Ogre line.  Do remember with low differential balls this does promote less ability to bring back missed shots to the outside on flatter patterns.

Two issues that are great with most Visionary balls is that they are basically most symmetrical so perfect releases (as in asymmetrical) for the ball to read the pattern correctly are minimized.  Plus the Ogre line is inexpensive compared to many lines being manufactured more bang for the buck and as you said from solid particle for heavier down to the OU which can be anything from a spare ball to lighter.

This is the perfect line to build a arsenal out of...start with the Ogre Pearl for mediums add and OU for a spare lighter ball...add a Particle for heavier then an SS or a B/G Centaur depending on what you want for ball motion and you'd have 3-4 balls for pretty much everything.

My point in the original post I made is that too many folks are looking for something that another manufacturer has covered....I can't say anything bad about Storm.  Storm/RG manufacturers good stuff. I just like Visionary also or better.
