Scott had one started a while ago and it got to be many pages long. So, asking how people are doing now that 2010 has been underway for a month.
Anyone got some new Visionary stuff they've been using lately? Shooting well? Scores, etc??
I know for me, this year has been mostly the New Breed year though I've thrown the Immortal Pearl and awful lot. Between league with my son where I shot another 300 (Immortal Pearl) and my first 800 (NB Reactive Pearl) and sitting around 221 and my other league where I use all of the New Breeds and the Immortal (couple high 700 series and a 298 along with 230 average), Visionary equipment has been very good to me this year!!
Anyone else?? I know Spike is having one his best years throwing the New Breeds. I expect to hear from him.

All of my leagues are done for this season/year. I did have my first 300 with an Immortal Pearl. On the payoff day for one of my leagues, during the nine-pin no-tap, I had ten natural strikes the first game with my Amulet (plastic) and ended up with 900, first time I've ever done that. When leagues start back up again in August, I am going to have to try the Amulet more as a strike ball instead of as my spare ball.

That smacks of needing an Ogre Urethane Gary.

Actually, I do have one that I got for the shorter patterns in the PBA Exp league, but as it was the last day of bowling, I only had two balls with me, my polished Blue Warlock and the Amulet. The Blue Warlock was hooking way too much, so I went with the Amulet.

Shooting mostly with the Galdiator Solid. Averaging around 215. Really just being punishly consistent. I did have my high series for the week last week with a 758. Still looking for my next Visionary honor score.

I''m new to Visionary this year and since switching to it I have had great success. I''m mostly using the New Breed Particle Pearl and the New Breed Pearl, but the Immortal Solid and Ogre Urethane have also seen some play.
Since switching this season I''ve done the following
• Raised my book average by 15.86 - (most improved male)
• Rolled my first sanctioned 300
• Rolled my first sanctioned 700 series
Last week with the Pearl I went
O X X X X X X X O XXX
In the last game, with those two shots being pulled every so slightly... which is a shame everything else was perfect and I was looking for the second 300 =)

Had some good series over the last few weeks mixed with some less than stellar.
769, 726, some low 600s when my mind melts etc...couple of 279s...last night 258 and 248 with the Crimson and G3 respectively...don't ask about middle game I wasn't there bowling haha...
Holding steady at about 217 now just mainly using the G3 and Crimson or Gladiator pearl here or there.

Just started last sunday with the New Breed Particle Pearl. Two low 200 games then a 1 and 1 move right and a 257. This looks like a good go to ball. I''ve been using an Ogre SS for over a year now. I have raised my average - 203 and rolled my highest series - 785. Great equipment very durable.

Avg. up 15 pins over last season so far. Mostly with New Breed Solid, but past month has been alot of New Breed Part. Pearl. Excellent ball for 2nd shift ball is all about control and power! Could not be happier with my arsenal right now. Then again, don't have a New Breed Pearl (yet)...

Shot 800 with a non Vis. ball wish it would have been but not. I align myself with Vis. users. but it was not to be.

Congratulations to everyone, even Scott with a non-Visionary 800.

Yeah I hear ya....I am conflicted.
All of the balls that I did drill this year have Vise IT. I used to use Turbo SG. I prefer the IT drilled balls. The two Visionary balls, I drilled this year that are IT are the NBPP and Ogre Urethane. These two only match up on certain conditions.
So, I used a pin down under bridge Solid Nomad in a doubles tourney 299-255-246 for 800 on the nose. With my doubles partner who shot 648 we took third. So, it was for cash....I seem to concentrate better in tourney's.

289 tonight with a Gladiator Solid and a good set 700+....I started thinking about not using Visionary and I have come to the realization that if George Palumbo aka MVPBowler (see Brunswick reviews) and Stephen Hahn aka I Bowl For Money (see 900G reviews) use other stuff and they are listed as amateur staffer and get free equipment and most of us pay for ours,....why should we care about using other equipment?

Use what you will people. It's all about the score! If amateur staffers use anything why are the rest of us so loyal?
--------------------
Scott
-
Hi Scott,
You are mistaken. While both are great guys, neither George Palumbo, nor Stephen Hahn have an amateur staff position with us, and neither of them get free equipment.
A couple years ago, George was a sales rep for us on the west coast for about a year, at which time he did use Visionary exclusively. Stephen Hahn is a test staff member, and pays for his equipment as any other test staff member would. Test staff members are not bound by any agreement to use our equipment exclusively.
I don't mean to come across as rude, but before you post comments like this, you really should check the validity of your statements. I can assure you that if we had an amateur staff member that used equipment manufactured by someone other than Visionary, they would not be on staff for very long.

Scott,
I would like to clarify that I also work for a Pro Shop and from time to time ball companies will send us equipment to get their products in the door. Eric Thomas graciously sent a few products our way and upon drilling them requested that I write a review.
I have had many great successes with Visionary and because I was one of very few that threw the equipment at the MegaBucks, many assumed I was a staffer. Would I like to be, absolutely, but as Jason said, I'm a Test Staff Member, nothing more, nothing less.

And right there is why I do use Visionary only. I was talking with Jason the other day and we were talking averages. Yeah....I know.....THS. But last year I was over 230....and that ended on November 3rd as it went below the next week and I never sniffed it again and finished out with a 219 I think. I was happy as that was 7 pins above my previous years average using only older Faballs.
This year we are in February....and I am still over 230. No FIGJAM.....I know it's a THS, but I've been throwing more consistent than I ever have and the each of the balls has rolled better than anything I've thrown. And that includes a 221 in another house....bowling with kids.
That is why I throw Visionary. And that's why I have no desire to 'open my mind' and try to throw anything else. Why would I want to mess with any of the success I am having.

Sorry I made the assumption Jason.
Straight from George's profile. "07-Current Member of Visionary Amateur Staff"
Test staff meant just that term. Amateur staff is a different term to me and I did think your company did maintain at some time in the past and I thought you still did. My mistake.
Didn't Visionary also in the past maintain a shirt staff?
--------------------
Scott
-
Scott,
I can understand the mistake, and it doesn't help that George has that in his profile. He hasn't been a rep of ours for about a year and a half now.
We do have the test staff membership, a true amateur staff, and an unofficial shirt staff. There are big differences between the three, and only true amateur staff members get free equipment.

Well...mentioned it in some other threads, but managed to hit 300 number 6 this past Sunday night in the Youth/Adult league I bowl in with my kiddo.
Was throwing the Immortal Pearl playing a small bellyhook shot. That's the second 300 in that alley for me and using the same ball as last time.
The Immortal has gotten a lot of use at those lanes.....and rolls exceptionally well there!!

Had a 277 730 with the Crimson Ex Tuesday night...freakin' tugged the shot a few boards and carry down kept the Crimson Ex from turning over. Ah well haha

I've only been bowling with my Gladiator Pearl for about a month, but my consistency has been so much better. I'm not one of you guys that are all star bowlers, but I've been throwing much better and getting my average back up to 160. That ball has got to be one of the most controllable balls I've ever thrown and it hits HARD! No series really worth posting...first week I threw a 499...lol! Once I get up there near 600 I'll start posting
-
Nice series' Spike and A_P_K.
Cappy, everyone has their own personal scores or goals to beat, so if you accomplish something that exceeds what you have done before, don't be afraid to post it. There may be some that bash, but overall, most recognize that they have been there before and will help you celebrate your feat.

Nice rollin' boys. Agree with Gary and there is not much bashing on this forum.
Line up for me right now is Nomad Solid, NBPP and old Track Heat re-make on carried down house shot 2nd shift.
--------------------
Scott
-
Gotta reiterate what Scott and Gary said.....post scores. We've all been there!! I remember my first year....averaging low 160s throwing a house ball hard and straight as an arrow!! Did that when I finally got my first ball in some 20 years....an ebonite gyro I think it was. Still averaging that huge 160+ at the time!! So...we've been there.
quote:
Line up for me right now is some other not so great non-Visionary Solid, NBPP and another old beat up remake that's also non-Visionary on carried down house shot 2nd shift.
However....we do like to fix things to be more appropriate for the Forum!!

Naw Gary I like to tell the truth. Not every Visionary balls matches up for me and this tuff carried down condition...my Vis. stuff just didn't do the job. The three I listed do for the most part nothing lower than 625 after fighting it for weeks on end. Either change and score or be loyal and struggle. Which would you pick?

Scott
-
Thanks for the support. I've been bowling for 3 years, but the first two I had no idea what I was doing with the balls I had in hands...lol! Now I'm just trying to get some consistency. I can throw a good ball, just cant do it all the time. I pulled myself out of some holes tonight though!
Thanks for the support yall!

I know.....just giving ya grief!! For me, there is no other, just other ones to combat the issues with. I jut happen to match up very with everything I throw...and thankful for that!!
