The Amulet Bowling Ball
« on: June 28, 2008, 08:29:41 AM »
Just got real lucky and picked up an amulet, and can't wait for its arrival as it completes my collection of balls I've always wanted.

Just curious do you guys know if the core is of the same shape as the old sorcerer and orange warlock?

Also, anyone know if this clear was made in Visionary's plant or was it a special order of sorts that came from overseas?

I'm pretty sure the clear gargoyle was made overseas but there were issues will quality control, I am also pretty sure that ball was limited to 200 or so if I am remembering correctly.

The amulet is a bit before my time and just curious.  Any info/knowledge/experience with the ball, please feel free to chime in.

I know this is a ball that many have searched out, me included, as it is very rare, but I have heard that it looks really neat going down the lane.

I don't have the clear but think I do remember that they were made in Korea.  I think not sure.

I do have a Glowing Amulet urethane with a Gargoyle core.

I do believe that it was the same core as the Sorcerer...but here's a link:

I own one, and the only reason I stopped using it, was because I had gained posession of a Glowing Amulet. Not too sure if it was poured overseas, but can tell you that the cover is VERY durable (but does track out a little faster than a normal ball...like every other clear ball does)!

I know the Clear Gargoyle (the one with the sitting Gargoyle inside) was made in Korea and because of quality control, there were not many made.  I think that the Infra-red Amulet was made in the Visionary plant as that was one of their earlier balls.

I am going to say that you are correct that it is the same core as the Sorceror and Blue/Orange Warlocks because in their drilling instructions, they indicate the  same core.

Hi Darkman,

The infra-red amulet was made by us in St Louis.  That was prior to the polyester costs going through the roof.  Since then, almost all clear polyester balls have been made overseas for everyone.

7 Year Itch, you may consider putting a link to your eBay sale in your post.

I know you have it in the Visionary For Sale forum, but for those who only see it here, it may help them (and you).

Thats generally what it cost to ship a ball, shipping prices and packaging cost are rising and so shipping a ball can cost about 20+ in most cases and then figure in traveling cost and packaging costs it makes sense.

What dark said is true. With the rising gas prices if I have to ship to California it is 24.00 or more.

Ok well back on Topic.  I used to have the infra-red amulet, and I loved it for dry lanes.  and from what I can tell I would love to find a glow-amulet.  So if anyone has a 15# that they would be willing to part with cheaply let me know.

I have a glowing amulet, but I'll never get rid of it as its just way too awsume of a bowling ball, truly one of a kind experiment.  Keep checking Ebay as once in a while a few will make the listing.
