I'm trying to figure out which Visionary ball I could use as my benchmark ball. I'm currently using a 16# Columbia Super Trooper. I love this ball, but I'm intrigued with the Visionary line. I am a cranker, throwing 16-18 mph, and standing center while throwing it out to about the 5-board. I don't have a very consistent release, and the Trooper is forgiving when I lay it down inside, or swing it out a little too far. That kind of what I'm looking for here.
Would the Violet Gargoyle be the ball I'm looking for? I'd like to stay more to the arcing type of ball, vice the skid/flip ones. Thanks for your help!
**I'm currently using a 15# Granite Gargoyle for my heavy oil ball (polished to 1000). I like it, which is why I'm looking for more.

I agree. The Violet is my first ball out of the bag every night. Ball is very versatile and friendly to surface adjustments. You will not be disappointed.

The Violet gargoyle is a great ball for a benchmark. I have mine for drier lanes but it is fairly versatile. it is a more arcing ball
Also look into the Frankie May Gryphon it is a great ball and is very controlable. This ball with a medium drilling will be really good. It reacts well to surface adjustments. It comes with a 400 grit surface but rolls really smooth(may want to change for benchmark). I use this or my AMB centaur solid whenever I can. The Gryphon tends to go a littl longer but has a smooth reaction.
