Visionary lies!
« on: August 13, 2008, 03:16:39 PM »
Just used the Bronze Centaur for the first time in my summer league. Small wonder (play on words!) Jason doesn't want to make any "particle pearls" or doesn't see the need for one. (Ha!) He's already making them. The way this ball reacts it can't be anything but a particle pearl.

Jeff,

Did you drill up the Solid AMB?  If so how do you feel they compare?

Did it even out some of the over-under you were seeing and let you square up a bit more Jeff????

No, not yet. Saving that for the winter. Can't use it during the summer, but I need to get used to it soon, in any case. So I'll probably drill it soon too.

Its nature allows one to do that, but its backend does not. This ball is STRONG. It was just slightly milder than a polished solid particle I had with me. It has decent length, revs up very quickly with a driving, won't-quit backend. If the AMB Bronze Centaur does this, I can't even imagine what the Immortal Pearl, with a lower RG, and more flare does or where one might use it.

I'll describe that place's problem in personal message. I don't want to get into that whine here.

Understood Jeff.

That place is pretty style and equipment specific. I tough matchup especially if they change week to week.

That's about the picture: every week different amount of oil, diff amt or carrydown, different placing of the dry. Part can be attributed to their oiling around 9/10 AM, and the small mixed league before us and our bowling at 9:30 PM. Even my partner Steve, who finished this year at 218, is seeing the weird changes each week. He was lucky to shoot 566 last night.

The Bronze I sold to Spike on here reacted like a much stronger updated NPT Scorcher, I suspect that is what Jason was up to. He might have used that secret chemical in the resin mix, remember that ball stood for Non Particle Technology also.

Very strong smooth ball kind of rolls like the Roto grip Assault Pearl which was a particle pearl and high diff. Wished I had kept it now but I tend to move on too quickly most times from boredom.  Make that both balls and probably 50 more to that list.

Just out of curiosity, what kind of layout did you put in it?  I agree.  Having thrown one myself a few shots (belonged to a friend of mine), it did seem very particle pearlish.

Glad you like the ball I love it, I love the solid even more. They really compliment each other well. Curious about how you laid it out as well, mine is drilled pretty strong.

Fairly strong:
pin next to ring finger, AMB 1" southeast of thumb hole. That makes it roughly a 4" (pin) x 4.75" (AMB) drill with pin 2.5" above midline.

Pin next to ring finger is normally a high pin for me. The AMB position was a wild guess because Jason never gave me any way to estimate the Mass Bias strength. Last night we had a lot of oil that we had not had all summer. Strong revving guys moved from their 4th arrow shot to a 2nd arrow shot. I was playing 10 out to 5 with the Bronze.

Thats funny its almost identical to mine, its closer to 3-1/2 for me though because the pap is higher up. This ball flares so much, I bowl in a cosmic league over the winter and the ball is literally glowing from oil rings. Solid has a very similar move but doesnt flare quite as much, 4-1/2ish to pap. The pearl is harder to change to surface on also.
