Visionary Purchase
« on: February 14, 2013, 04:28:20 PM »
Looking for a pro shop that carry Visionary equipment. I was told to contact Bowldream and bowlers cellar. My zip code is 45240. I was given a pro shop number near to me but it is out of business.

Those are both good online sources.  For something closer, you can try Beaver Vu Pro Shop.  I understand they carry VBP.  The number is 937-426-6773.

Carlos,

Who gave you those names to call??  Betsy should have a list of the  pro shops Visionary deals with in terms of those that carry their stuff.

Outside of that....I believe that any pro shop has the ability to call Visionary to place an order...though don't quote me on that.  Again....check with Betsy to see what she says and then go back to them and see what they say.

Depending on how many you are looking at....did you think about the test membership??

She gave me the names. I want a pro shop that carry and drill Visionary. I'm just looking at getting the new ball. Should I be concerned about z spin ? I did read the thread talking about it. I still don't have a true understanding about it and I don't want that to drive me away from making the purchase. That's why I really want to go to a pro shop that actually drill Visionary. Some pro shop operators can persuade you in a direction when they don't know about a ball. Thanks Carlos

No concerns, the Warlock XV is symmetrical cored.

Besides the z spins work great, you just have to lay them out correctly.

Totally agree with you on your 'wants'!!  I don't think there's an issue with the Z-spin so long as people understand it.  The Scotts and Charles and anyone that understands the drilling and everything about it can talk more on that...I can't.  But I think that your approach to finding not only a place that sells....but also drills....VBP stuff is a smart approach!!

Hopefully you do....and when you do....good luck!

JMO but if the pro shop operator you choose understands any VBP z-spin ball that you order needs a different than normal layout which I understand on the Mixed Breeds that drilling instructions are included.  Go for it.

I would quiz any prospective pro shop operator as to his experience with VBP and his ability to get your stats./PAP and correctly layout your ball for the conditions you are going to be using it on.  That's the key for any bowler to work with a good professional pro shop operator/driller IMO whether it's a z-spinner or not.

You can't go wrong with Visionary. Their equipment is top notch and there service is the best of any of the ball companies that I have dealt with. Visionary does not mass produce their bowling balls like most of the big name companies do. I have never had any issues with their equipment and Visionary balls are well known for their durability. I have been throwing a TCBA Classic since August of last year quite successfully and the ball is still going strong. Averaging 240 with that ball.

Visionary staff will go out of their way to make things right if any issues might arise. Betsy is usually the first one you will talk to and she can answer most of your questions and process your order. Jason Wonders is a walking bowling encyclopedia when it comes to ball layouts and practically anything else to do with the sport. I have been on Visionaries test staff for 3 years now and have not regretted a minute of it.

Completely agree.  If they just want to slap a drilling pattern on the ball without even getting your PAP, you should seriously question whether you want to do business with them.  If they go to the trouble to get your PAP and axis tilt (which they can get off a ball you use now), you can feel better about them.  If they also go to the trouble to determine your axis rotation, rev rate, and ball speed (which they can only do by watching you throw a ball, unless you already know what these numbers are), you have someone who you can feel pretty confident knows what they're doing.
