Visionary used balls ...
« on: May 14, 2008, 11:36:57 PM »
I am constantly amazed at how few Visionary balls are offered for sale used. So very many people must use them until they become all but unusable. And when they are offered up for sale, they go almost immediately. I think that says more for Visionary's design of these balls better than almost any other factor: People like these balls for a long time.

(Please, don't worry; I am not looking for any used balls. I just noticed this over a long period of time in my internet travels and with talking to people.)

Very true Charlest. And the funny part is that it is not like the line is being discontinued any time soon. VSP stuff stays in production for quite a few years.

Same goes for LaneMasters-Legends.

Me Too!
Even though I got too many Visionary I just don't get rid of them!

The only time I traded a Visionary ball was for another Visionary ball
-a Violet Gargoyle for an old Orange Warlock.

As for selling I never have

Heck the old stuff is so good I don't need the new stuff.

I WANT MY EXECUTIONERS BACK!!!!!!!!

I loved the Executioners, and the DC Tour.  I have a FM, and AMB solid,
but haven't drilled them yet, as I have no need. I also hve a case of charcoal executioners

I am looking forward to trying the Gladiator as it is supposed to be like the exectutioner.

You can't beat the service, you can't beat the people, and you can't beat the product.

I'll buy stock if they bring back the executioner core lol

I believe, I have every ball produced by Visionary.

I find Jeff's post very true.  They wear forever and from time to time I pull out an older Visionary ball and use it always throw a big game or set as they match up so well.

Two of my highest sets this year were shot with a Violet Gargoyle and a NPT Scorcher.

It is a blessing and a curse.  The blessing is for those of you have have some of the older equipment.  It still works well on today's conditions and the balls tend to last.  The curse is for those of us who came to the Visionary party a little too late.  I have picked up a Crim. Ex. used that until I cracked it (my fault for leaving it in the trunk).  Then picked up a used Charcoal and had my highest score ever (297) with it this year.  I recently found a used B/G Centaur but, I would love to get my hands on some more used equipment.

I have a IMMORTAL SOLID, 16 lbs for sale. I've tried different cover prep, two different drillings. The ball is a TURD. It's decent straight up the boards, but you cannot swing it. I'm SERIOUS!!! I tried to sell it in town, nobody wants it. The pro shop in town won't recommend VISIONARY equipment because of that ball. (HE TRIED THAT BALL AND SAID IT WAS A TURD ALSO.) I have a CENTAUR PARTICLE I use in tournaments. LOVE IT!!!

It might be because you are a high tracker.
I am a high tracker also, and it was the Warlock DC's that gave me grief.
I was finally able to come up with a drilling coverstock combo that worked,
even then it was more of a second third game ball, or tounament ball.

They have something for everyone.

Two Granits with hundreds of games a piece on them. Work like they are brand new. My brother wouldn't part with them unless he was dead!

I agree with Eric and a lot of that comes from talking with Jason this last weekend at TCBA tourney.

I had issues with the Immortal Pearl, but I believe it's because of where I tracked and the fact that I probably didn't give the ball another chance.  It was a used ball and with my span, probably close to your Eric....can't remember....I was wanting to let it go and get something else instead.  I think there's a huge lack of understanding for that ball and what it was designed to do...and there are going to be those that are ignorant of that fact and pretend that it was all the ball.....not the driller or the bowler.

Hopefully soon....I'll be enjoying some more of VBP with a membership and all. Already love what I have.

Talked to Jason in SA also. He thinks Immortal Pearl would work for me and my low track. I already have success with a SD-73. He also checks with us every year to see if my brother and I are still throwing our Rico Granite. He loves seeing that ball and can't believe how well it works.

There are very few balls that are no good to anyone. This is not one of them. Just because you don't know what the ball is and what it is godd for and how to drill it does NOT make it bad.

Too many people see one person do well with any one ball and they automatically assume it would be perfect for them.

You buy a ball reaction, BASED on seeing or hearing of someone who has a style similar to yours using that ball on an oil pattern similar to yours. Until you learn that, don't denigrate any ball that doesn't work for you.

Then they put down that ball, as if the ball were bad, not as if they made an erroneous assumption. Sadder still.
