I was thinking of getting another one and drilling a longer pin and polishing. This is a great ball!!
For both Spike and JD, per Jason, "the goal of the ball was to satisfy a wide range of styles and lane conditions" and in what you are thinking, yep....should do real well.
I think that a longer pin with some polish would work wonders for a breaking down lanes for many people whereas for Spike, with what he liked to call a heavier oiled shot, rougher surface to 1000 would allow for heavier oil shot.
Loved the fact that I really didn't move much last night at all. If anything, I did loft the ball a little and took hand out at the end of the last game, still playing around the same boards.
And I will say that the lanes we are on are not ones that throw the pins around. Last night, for the first time, they were! Pins stayed low and I had some decent mixers which surprised the daylights out of me.
